I really hate how winning 9 games in the playoffs is being remembered so fondly by people. Sure it was fun at the time but let's not dwell on it. Though I would have liked them to re-sign Moore, letting them go wasn't the end of the world.
Well depending of what you mean by the end of the world. Nothing is really as far as hockey is concerned. Yet, when you are team who thrives in being speedy and defensively responsible, when you are a team who mostly have to build on picks because building on UFA has not (Cole aside) been that much a success, you need all the 2nd rounders you can get since we have the best head scout in the league, when you give those picks, just make sure you keep those guys longer than half of a year, ESPECIALLY if they end up doing a great role for you AND show you that they are there when it counts the most in the playoffs. So, not in the end of the world à la Ribeiro for Niinimaa, or McDonagh for Gomez etc.....but a bad move nonetheless.
