Yeah let's wish a guy to have problems with his eyes the rest of his life so we can save cap space.

I agree, that is such an immature comment.

I'm not wishing anything.

But if it just so happens to be the case.. I won't lose any sleep over it, and will look at the positives.

He should just retire, he was coming back in October, he was coming back after Christmas, he wants to play before the season ends.......see a pattern here? His knee(s) are shot and he is still having problems and still cannot take contact, really!!!! he is having more complications and is probably going to call it quits if he is not playing by seasons end. He has access to the best therapists and doctors in sports and he is not ready for the simple fact that his knee is not good enough. Goodbye Mr Markov, you were a great player for us, its too bad injuries have cut your great career way too short.

Or maybe he's just waiting to get his confidence back before he can absorb a hit? or maybe I'm not whining enough?

Why would Montreal want him back at the moment ? I don't understand why you guys wouldn't rather he keep shut down until next year ?

It would be nice to have some indication of whether or not he'll be back to form for next year. If not, there will be endless debates about it over the summer

Not to mention having Marky back would make watching this train wreck a little more interesting, and it's a good way to test his knee when there is no pressure to win anymore.

If he's 100%, it's better to play him this year to make him test his knee and get back a little taste of hockey before next year. If he is 100% this season, he will not be more 100% next year. It would also kill an endless debate that would occur this summer, like someone mentioned.

And you think having him play a couple games would end that debate and determine what form he is in? he is going to need probably half a season to return to his comfort level. There are always going to be the debates regardless of him playing or not, alot of fans resent him for being injured.

Because the front office(and fans) want to know if he can be counted on for next year. I'd rather him get re-injured before the summer than next year.

there is 6 weeks left in the season, if he comes back he should be able to get 3-4 weeks play(8-12 games) plus maybe the World Championships.

It's possible Crosby may never return to the NHL. But he also might. Players do recover. If this was a nobody, I would say fine, let's not invest in his recovery, but many players have recovered from EXTREME setbacks. He can do the same and it is totally worth waiting for that.

I would think they will want Markov to play, to gauge where he is, and what to expect for October 1st next season....

I would love to see him return, I felt that when healthy, he was our best player by a wide margin. I'm sure we would be sitting in a much different place in the standings right now if he had come back in late October early November like was reported to us. If he is healthy, let him play the last 10 games of the season, lets see if he is ready. I would hate to see him sit out the remainder of games for us then go straight to the world championships, now that would smell really bad. I guess saying he was done is a little harsh but I am just very skeptical of any info that comes from this org. this year has been a total mess and I cant wait for it to be over.

I agree, at least then he can be taken off the books. I think it is really imprtant for him to play this year if he can.

Ok, let me do all the whining and I can read your posts to look for intelligent insightful posts about our beloved Habs.

After seeing Markov skate I now believe he will be back. It's just a matter of when and if he will lose speed or mobility.

His skill is still gonna be there but he's gonna be rusty but if he loses speed it's gonna be a big deal. He was already not a fast skater to begin with.

Markov's game is almost entirely mental, him being slower isn't going have much of an impact at all
