I love that Phil Kessel is on our team.

The only thing that I wish would have gone down differently is that instead of trading 2 first rounders and a 2nd for Kessel, that Burke would have traded Kaberle & a 1st (Nazem Kadri) for Kessel (He could have done this).

Then instead of Kessel, Colborne, Biggs, and a 2nd, and Kadri, we'd have Kessel, Seguin, Hamilton, & Knight or some other 2nd round pick. But then again Hindsight is 20/20.

Great game by the Buds tonight. I'm liking the fact that Frattin is seeing more minutes. He's going to be a beauty!!!

Same old pathetic Hfers moaning about the Kessel trade I see?

Back to March 2012. That was an enjoyable game at last, with actual hitting and fight. In fact I can't remember the last time we had so many hits in a game.

Also, from what I've briefly seen on YT I'm glad I'm watching the games on GameCentre Live so avoid that imbecile Cherry.

I like those odds
To be fair though, we're going to need a better record in the final quarter of a season than any of those guys haha

I was waiting for the thread to turn into an Anti-Burke rant by the regulars.

Glad to see I will not leave disappointed. So predictable, kids.

I think it's crazy that when RC was asked what he did to prepare the team for the game he said something like; "I told them to skate and be themselves." If this is indeed the case, I am much happier RW is gone than I was before.

Pretty amazing how quick they learned the new system and shutdown the Habs.

He also told them to always have 3 players in front of the puck.

Carlyle definitely see's something in Steckel that we haven't seen this year. What a strong, effective game him and his line mates had - and such a strange combo at that!

Awesome game, full 60 minute effort.

They played well defensively and didn't turn it over as much. For the first time in 4 years they didn't look like chickens running around with their heads cut off.

Anyone else notice we cycled the puck a bit? We're not very good at it yet, but there was some good stuff happening.

I don't know what happened to Kulemin, but he might not even be back at this rate.

The habs out hit us 31/29,and eight of our guys had zero hits. It was zero hits for 3 d-men Gardiner,Liles, and Gunnarsson.

If this was Wilson, he would've thrown the Bozak line on the ice for the PP because they're the "#1 line" even if they played the game poorly.

I like that change. It was always frustrating in games when the Grabovski line would carry the team and we'd get a PP and Wilson would send out the Bozak line for the first 1:30 and kill all momentum.
I think it was more because there was 1 minute left in the game and Carlyle wanted to put out the better defensive line (also why he put gunnarsson and dion on too)

31/29 is hardly a big issue, it was fairly even. I found the game very entertaining.

Believe there's also a well known bias when recording such stats at home - for all teams.

Steckel has been a solid performer all season, not at all utilized by Wilson. That stick of his is constantly intercepting passes and he is absolutely a safe player.

I've been talking with friends and family about him regarding this for months and in my circle everyone has agreed Steckel is not being used correctly (That went for the whole team under Wilson though, Steckel was one of the sticking points though).

Which is pretty funny because I think I saw Gardiner hitting people a couple of times. I don't think there is a 'standardized' method of counting hits and the home team 'counters' often fudge the numbers.

A bit like our captain's cheap shot against Eller after the whistle. Every team does it.
