I would love to see McMillan again. I honestly thought he could have a chance to get some kind of blow-out season this year. Unfortunately not...
Yeah, I actually forgot that he exists for few months because we never talk about him anymore. I hope he finds his game for next season and he has to if he wants to make it to Ducks' lineup IMO.
Yes, they should finally start giving starts to Tarkki to find out if he can be the backup goalie next season. Also, call up players like Holland, Palmieri, Maroon, Clark, O'Marra and McMillan, possibly Schultz(?) to give them NHL experience. But I agree that they should wait for one or two more losses.
I think you can only call up 4 players after the deadline apparently? Burke was saying something like this in the Leafs press conference I think.
Also on the game, thought we were unlucky, PP were robbed once but didn't really do the job. And Kings benefited from several very questionable calls, the Bonino 'interference' call took the cake.
There isn't enough movement on the PP IMO. They are easy to close on, and all you have is a bunch of passing where someone hopes they will get a little time, shoot, and hope Perry knocks the rebound in. I don't know what's up with Selanne. The puck is a gernade every time he touches it. He needs to float to the right spot more. He does it on 5 on 3, but he doesn't do it on a regular PP. That could just be coaching I don't know, but it needs to be addressed regardless.
This was the case two seasons ago as well. He couldnt handle the puck to save his life without losing it with no pressure. Last season he found his touch again. This season is the same as two seasons ago. The different though is I think the cause two seasons ago was injuries but this year seems like age.

Definitely dont want Koivu or Blake back. Time to move on. Selanne would be cool on the 3rd line. Or as someone else said on the 2nd line but not the "fixture" on the second line.
Looking forward to seeing this team start next season under BB's command, hoping for a proper start and not this same **** again, also Teemu 1 more year
Boudreau is 100% right. I mean if our PP actually did it's job tonight we likely win the game and nothing is said. But the calls that were made were absolute *********. It was bush league reffing for the most part tonight.
I'm now rooting for the Avs to take the 8th spot. It means Jiggy makes the playoffs and the Kings don't. Too bad the Pens destroyed them tonight.

Look... if you're giving to throw out numbers that are a bunch of crap, I'm going to call you on it. Maybe next time you'll think twice before tossing out arbitrary numbers.
Not really. The numbers were hyperbolic, I'm pretty sure you knew that. Find something better to quibble with.

I bet in the majority of cases where players "fall off the cliff" there are extenuating circumstances... injuries, for example. Players who get older tend to me more prone to injuries. In Lubo's case, he had a broken finger pretty early in the season(do we even know when he broke it?), not to mention the death of his best friend. It wouldn't surprise me that starting the season off on that note impacted the rest of his season in some degree.
Why should injuries not be taken hand in hand with decline? We know he is injury prone, we know that he is old, and we know that older players (95%!) are generally more prone to injury...how does this hurt my argument?

What I'm saying is that you see this season as the future of Visnovsky, instead of it just being the down season it probably was. Will he return next season as a Norris-contender? No, probably not, but I'd be willing to bet that he performs better next season if he has a healthy off-season. The off-season is an important time for players.
You take shots at me for not taking risks, but sometimes the risk comes from not making a move. If Murray feels like the Ducks would be better off moving on without Lubo, that's his decision, but at least I know his decision will be an educated one. He's not going to gamble just for the sake of gambling because that's the "difference between success and mediocrity."
What isn't educated about what I am saying? Combining what I'm seeing with what happens to older players I'm not taking a giant leap here. I take shots at you because you don't go out on a limb about anything. You stay where it's nice and safe, and that's fine, but it would be a pretty bad quality for a GM, especially one that has to make moves a little bit ahead of the curb to counteract a lack of funds.
We'll see what happens, but so far this season Visnovsky has done nothing but get worse, even as the team has gotten better. That isn't a good sign.
