Silly theory - Secret tanking

Disclaimer: This is not meant to be taken seriously.

with the flames having lost 6 of the last 7 games, right after getting that 8th spot, its really questionable whether they want to be in the playoffs or not.

Since management does not want to become sellers, is Feaster secretly getting the flames to lose so that they finish lower? By these steps

-In interviews and media, Feaster repeatedly states the flames are pushing for a playoff spot

-Behind the scenes, he gets Brent before gametime to get them to play well

-After the first period, if the flames play well, he tells Brent to tell the team to tone down their effort so that they lose eventually, thus, playing a horrible second period.

-Flames lose the game, while looking like they were actually trying to win.

This is just a stupid theory but just my thoughts after this loss. If we had won one home game recently I would not have thought of it..

There's no conspiracy here. This is a mentally fragile team that struggles to hold leads.

Truth is, Atlanta's government has infiltrated King's mind and is planning to have him sell the Flames once their fan base is barren and empty.

I hear the deal is about to go through.

Wow...uh, no.

Feaster could have blown the team up and traded everyone for prospects, blue chip young players and picks, but he did not - instead his ego got the better of him.

The team will be way worse off now. It will get a mid 1st rounder, where it could have finally had a good high pick......

Dam I wish we could have drafted that top prospect Sven to bad we had to much of a mid pick to get him.

As for the OP it is obviously just a dumb idea but it is funny how much it explains.

Don't get your hopes up too high. He's 1-2 years away and may only be a second or third line player if they develop him properly. He has a better upside than a lot of past picks. Remember the Flames have a way of screwing up prospects. This team isn't tanking they just suck

This can be said for almost every prospect. He has first line up side with great hockey IQ, I am not saying he is going to be a superstar or anything just that he maybe one of the top prospects not in the nhl and we didn't have to finish dead last to get him.

He's 9th in scoring in WHL on a pretty good team. A season in the AHL will give a better read on his pro skill set. Hate to get my hopes up after seeing so many young guys wasted here. the coaching and development philosophies of this organization have to change. Firing upper management and Sutter would be a start. If they owners gave a crap about anything but appearnces and money changes would be made. Toronto left a good young coach available in Eakins but the flames will find another Sutter Keenan clone

Lol That'd be fail tanking in this case since tanking usually gets u a first or second overall.

But has the highest point per game of any player in the chl.

Feaster has already started to revamp the scouting and development of the team as it has been our biggest weakness for quiet some time.

It has to extend further than that. We need to change the style this team plays so offensive minded players have a chance. This mind numbing Sutter style has to go. I've watched Sven and Reinhart play and I would hate to see this talent wasted playing this system and its been this way for a long time.

Reinhart already plays in this still and I agree we need to play an offensive style I feel if we did this now the team we currently have would be much better because of it.

No Sutters ever here and this team is better off. I wonder what Iggy Tanguay etc could have done under a more offensive style of hockey.

Iggy would have hit 100 once at least. Keenan pushed him pretty close to that landmark
