Coming into todays game Martin is at 307 hits, theres 17 to go. He would need to average a tad over 5 a game to hit 400 which is mind boggling, thats a record that should stand a Loooooooooong time!
Jeez, I was always high on Martin but being on pace to break the single-season record for hits? Likely going way beyond Clutterbuck's record as long as he stays healthy?
He's on the 4th line now, getting less minutes, so it'll be tough. It's a pointless stat though, highly subjective and varies significantly from building to building - not to take anything away from Martin, who truly finishes EVERY check.
