I honestly think that Detroit and Pitts could be better teams than us, but I'm just hoping we'll find ways to beat these teams on the ice (if we have to see them). Our playoff run is pretty much guaranteed to be a long, grueling process for us. I have faith that we can tough it out, but I can't say I'm not a little worried about some match-ups.
I have a friend who interns for the Islanders (game operations). He said the Rangers are the tightest team he has seen before games. They are like a family. He hates to admit it but he still told me. These guys will die for each other. That will go a long way in the playoffs.

Anything else would not count on hfboards. It will be considered pure luck.
I would love for us to win the Cup by beating these teams:

Ottawa -> NJ -> Florida -> Phoenix

Just because it would give millions of people the chance to complain about our easy run

Torts did say this is the tightest team he ever coached and how everyones so close, and were so young which makes it even better, I'm actually looking forward too the detroit game too see how they face off against the veterans, want to see mcdonagh shutdown datsyuk

As much as I like McDonagh, no one shuts down Datsyuk.

IF IF we make the finals...what team would you like to meet

lifelong rangers fan and I know their history inside out...not looking to jinx the team and I know there is a ton of hockey left...but if we do make the finals what team would you like to meet up with....for me definetly detroit, it would be an original six match up and these 2 teams have not met in the playoffs since the 1950 cup finals, chicago would be cool also another original six who we haven't met since 1973..discuss

I worried about Tampa sneaking in as the 8. They have offensive firepower the Rangers just can't match.

Vancouver.

We'd be able to bully them like Boston did last year.

I could see Prust doing something like this:

The Black Hawks. Two Oringinal 6 teams. The two biggest Markets in the league.

Lots of attention for the Rangers, Hawks and League.

True, but finishing in second in the division and 4th overall, would give a matchup against either the Pens or the Flyers. And that is one that I would rather avoid. And the blasted Caps.

If going for an easier win, Phx..

But a dream matchup would be detroit, would love a NYR vs. Det finals...my dream as a little kid was going to a SCF game between us and the red wings and beat there ass

Doesn't anyone worry about Buffalo. Ryan Miller seems to be back on his game. He is the only goalie who could match Hank
True Blue, you still owe me some beers for our Redskin/Giant bets. Good to see you back. I've been away for awhile myself

Vancouver. Much respect to them as they are a great team but they are very soft. We could easily bully them.

Detroit has insane puck possesion skills. That team would cause a nightmare.

Hands down Vancouver 1994 rematch. I think this team is built to beat them, and it would be a great series.

Also, if they did lose Vancouver gets their sweet revenge, which would be okay with me. I'd rather see them win it than Detroit again.

Blues would be my second choice.

there are very few if any teams in the East that have the depth that this Ranger team has. Over a 7 game series this depth could be a huge advantage if injuries take place.

Dallas. I think we'd kill them in a 7 game series.

If I had to pick a team, St. Louis... The only guy I know in Holland that watches NHL as well, is a friend who was born in St. Louis and is a huge Blues-fan.

That would really be a great 2 weeks of hockey
