A lot of time is wasted on these boards discussing things that are absurd. That's why sometimes just declaring something ridiculous (when accurate) is preferred over trying to convince someone who is hopefully just being disingenuously contrary they are wrong.

JR is the hockey version of Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day.
Not hard to predict what is going to happen with him, and if anything differs from what you predict, it's most likely going to be a bad thing (most recent example is the Kaberlol signing).
JR should have used his time machine to know that Ruutu was going to get injured and accepted the first trade offer to come his way. I don't care if it was for a tennis ball, a piece of dryer lint, and some nail clippings. JR is an idiot.

Sometimes he does. There's two weeks left. Hell, maybe teams weren't offering what he wanted. You don't trade Ruutu just to trade him.
unless his asking price is 5 mil, then you trade him for some sticks and a board logo....cause there is no chance you are paying him that at any point.
Not with 2 weeks left you don't, which was the point. If Ruutu wants 5M, then obviously he's getting dealt. But the closer you get to deadline day the more the price goes up. Look at the sellers thread on the trade board. It's pretty bare. Ruutu would/could get an excellent return. Not dealing him yet isn't a mistake.
There are plenty of reasons to hate JR, no need to invent another.

I agree completely with this, I was just saying that there is in fact a scenario where you trade him just to trade him bc you know you wont be resigning him.
I think JR and Ruutu will find a common ground. Ruutu won't get 6 years for 5 million per.....but I think JR is very likely to give him 4 years and $20 million spread out similar to Gleason's money.
