Dougie's Brother Freddy

Dude just potted 10 points on the weekend with 4 goals and 6 assists as the Niagara shelled out 23 goals in a pair of lop-sided victories. Sure wish we had have drafted this kid, SJ appears to have a good one. For the record, Dougie had just 4 assists on the 23 goals. Islander prospect Ryan Strome had 5 goals and 5 assists. Should be a fun team to watch come playoff time.

Uh, to be fair, didn't Niagra just win a game 13-4 or something like that because Erie had a forward playing goalie b/c their goalies were both injured?

Never heard that. Did Belleville also have a forward in the night before for the 10 spot.

Indeed.

Freddie's a good player with a good head on his shoulders but forecasting based on this weekend's stats is a little bit misleading.

Freddie is legit. Better version of Brooks Laich. I cant wait for the Memorial Cup so we can see Dougie, Knight and Spooner...all their teams r at the top I believe.

EDIT: Spooners team (Sarnia) is 5th in their conference

Hamilton, Knight, and Spooner all play on different teams...and the OHL only has one entry this year...so the best we will get is one of them.

Traded up? Freddie Hamilton was chosen with the ninth pick in the fifth round in 2010 (129th overall). Maybe he turns out to be a low-round gem, but one weekend does not a career make.

I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up trading for Freddie at some point during the draft, like Chicago did with the Hayes brothers last year.

Why should the Bruins do that? Freddie's a decent player, but I don't see why they'd trade for him.

That goalie they played yesterday hadn't played net since he was 5, he could barely stand up, hence the 13 goals.

Nonetheless, forget this weekend Freddy looks legit, he has been producing all season and was good at the World Juniors.

So he was drafted in the 5th round from what I gather? If that's true that is a steal.

Carolina traded for Jared Staal
Hawks traded for David Toews
Devils signed Stephen Gionta when they had Brian

The list is about a mile long, but teams trade for/sign the younger brothers of good players relatively often.

Freddie's older than Dougie.

Teams sign or trade players according to need. Perhaps a brother will gain an edge because the one they have is a solid citizen so his brother should be as well, but making him a target because he's a sibling just doesn't happen.

You can not be serious.

I tagged on to Dougie in Freddie's draft year they were already saying that Dougie was a better player.

These are 2 very smart kids and I think that will be shown on the ice.

Hey they might still not get to be super stars but why not have both.

Because San Jose drafted Freddie. If the Bruins had been high on him, they would have drafted him, as they had the opportunity to do so. He's a fair junior player, but the Bruins have several of those. And if Freddie's developing well, I doubt San Jose will want to let him go.

Ya i know theyre all on different teams. I did not however know that the OHL only has 1 entry in the memorial cup. Well than we still have a good chance of seeing dougie or knight. Does NHL Net not show some OHL playoffs?

The guy played for the Canadian Junior team in the World Junior tounament as one of the top Canadian forwards in the country. He's had a few good "weekends" now.
