The Myers, The VRP, The Pierre

Good:
-Can I get this Myers every game?!?!?
-Best crowd I've heard in a long, long time, props to Winnipeg. They willed the Jets for 3 periods. Brilliant.
-Ellis/Tropp rewarded for their hard work.
-Stafford/Hodgson/Ennis with several great chances.

Bad:
-Turnover turnover turnover turnover
-Vanek/Roy/Pominville has to go
-Leopold/Regehr/Weber really couldn't handle the pace of the Jets.
-Miller looks like he's starting to tire, lot of rebound issues tonight. Enroth needs a game soon.
-Gerbe/Leino/Kaleta completely invisible. Swap Leino and Roy please.
-Boyes suckssssssssssss, Foligno please. Tell me you wouldn't want Tropp/Ellis/Foligno.

Ugly:
-Pierre Maguire is a total hack, NBC should be embarrassed by him.
"so much skill on this winnipeg team"
"jimmy slater chris thorburn"
"blake wheeler gurglegurglegurgle"
-GDT was awful. Funny how losing brings out the crazy.

Jets wanted this from the puck drop. Our top skaters (Miller not included) didn't...story of this team.

Roy/Pominville/Vanek were absolutely terrible again.

I've always hated losing to the Thrashers. Always been a thorn in our side.

the bad: Winnipeg fans making a fool out of themselves by chanting "sil-ver medal," yet none of their players were on the Canadian roster and they have 8 US players on their roster. And not to mention, this team wasn't a canadien team a year ago! Disgrace

End of a LONG road trip outside the time zone vs a team that had the entire weekend off within an 8 games homestand. It was obvious on how the game turned out, nothing much to say.

Ugly: Leopold, the Derek Roy of defensemen
Sad: every line except for the fourth line was dominated

Good:
-Excellent road trip. Good effort tonight. Gassed.
-Tropp and Ellis worked their ***** off.
-Myers was good.
-Hodgson's passing on the powerplay.
-Miller
-WPG atmosphere

Bad:
-Vanek needs to go away in the offseason. Elite players don't slump like this.
-Roy still needs to go away.
-Ennis and Hodgson both had tough nights.

Ugly:
-The silver medal chant. Come on, WPG fans...

Ennis had his worst game in weeks. So many blown scoring chances.

Tough game on the end of a tough roadtrip. They fought tonight, but just didn't have enough to get the job done, and the turnovers didn't help either.

Frustrating because the 8th spot was within grasp, but all in all I'd take 6/8 points on this roadtrip any day.

Winnipeg fans are Canadian, though. Had no problem with it.

What if Winnipeg had players that were on the US Olympic team, would it be awesome then?

Good:
Myers, 4th line working hard as always. Boyes has been playing better than our entire top line. Stafford was moving his feet all night, just no execution with his linemates.

Bad: Miller, he wasn't terrible, just looked shaky and was hoping he could've stopped breakaway. He played a solid game, just bad plays by our skaters. Only put him here because we need that big save, especially when we're playing so poorly. Everyone other than 4th line, Myers and Stafford.

Ugly:
Vanek - Worst game I've seen him play in a long ****ing time, just terrible everywhere, that one backpass pretty much described his night.
Pominville: Just bad.
Roy: Bad, but best of the VRP line(Does that say much?)
Ennis: Bad
Hodgson: So slow, I see what Canucks fans were saying about his speed, couldn't get in on the backcheck on the first goal.
Execution: ****, **** **** **** **** **** ****. *****.

This team needs a leader, Pommy is a good guy and probably has the respect of the locker room, but they need a real bonafide leader. Someone to help get them through the trenches. God I miss Drury and Briere...

Marathon not a sprint. A game in hand + Winnipeg is a a bag of rocks on the road. They got a taste of what it takes to get into the playoffs tonight. They'll know to bring more when that opportunity presents itself again in 1-2 weeks.

I think they appreciate their fans' support and really don't care about that. That said, it's a hypothetical, as none of them were, so... yeah.

Good:
- 4th line
- This game coulda been decided before the 3rd period, if not for Miller.
- 3rd line was decent. Leino I thought had a pretty good game.
- This road trip I guess. 7/10 points is not too shabby.

Bad:
- None of the "skill" players driving to the damn net for the first two periods. Compare and contrast to the Jets. Embarrassing.
- Team defense, zone coverage, ugh. Numerous times a Jets player was standing wide open in the slot while noone thought of picking him up.
- Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Oh, did I mention turnovers?

Ugly:
- The pile of suck that is called the 1st line.
- The momentum/optimism gained on this road trip will be widely overshadowed by this game. They could've ended it on a high note.
- Staying up at 2am full of excitement to watch this game and then getting to see that performance.

Oh, do you think the Winnipeg fans checked the lineup card to make sure that none of their players were on the US team first, said "Ok gents, we're good!" and then took off with the chant?

I personally would be pretty pissed if the supposed fans of my team were celebrating what might be the biggest loss of my hockey career. Oh but none of the players on Winnipeg were on that team, so it's all good, right?

Random thoughts:

The Sabres should have used fresher legs for this one. Tropp should have gotten more ice time and Foligno should have been used.

Weber is too slow for the NHL.

Apparently, playing center in Lindy Ruff's system is the hardest thing to do that is humanly possible. Hodgson was especially awful.

Myers was great until late in the 2nd when he started to look gassed.

Roy was not great, he wasn't Roy-like. Pomminville and Vanek were not good enough either, and as a line they don't play very inspired at all. These guys are the teams most highly paid, most talented, and most coveted players. They are the "core" that is supposed to lead the charge. Instead they made risky thoughtless plays and provided each other with zero puck support. They cost the team 2 points for sure.

I like Thorburn, he stepped right around Regher and scored a sweet goal. That stung, but I was happy for him a little bit.

Great road trip. But this team needs a #1 line, and a good one.

I really like Evander Kane. Rock solid player, good in every zone.

G:
Myers was a beast
4th line working hard all game long
Winnipeg crowd. I would love to be involved in an atmosphere like that at FNC
B:
VRP
Leopold moved the puck like a hand grenade tonight
U:
I thought this was a national broadcast...Pierre ******* himself over a tiny toedrag by Wellwood, saying Winnipeg is 4 lines deep.
Fans jumping off the bandwagon after one loss with 16 games left in the season.

Seriously, if Miller lets that get into his head, then good luck because every arena in the league will do that to him. Winnipeg's crowd can say whatever they want, our players are the ones that make the difference and they didn't.
