under JM : on pace for 30 goals
under RC : on pace for 10 goals
He was also on pace for 30 goals at the start of 2010-11 and didn't end up close it under Martin. He wouldn't have scored even close to 30 even if JM never got fired. He'd never score 30 in MTL period, unless we got an elite playmaking centre. If that's what it takes for a winger to pot 30, he ain't much to write home about. It's too bad about AK but people are acting we just traded a top line winger. Hell we barely traded a top 6 forward.
Dude, AKost is not supposed to be a third liner. But as a third liner of course he's gonna play with Eller and/or Gomez and not Pleks or DD. Eller has been crappy too under Cunneyworth so that's that.
That's my point. Even if he was not supposed to be a third line winger, he still play on a third line without any complaint. Why? Because he played with Eller and it worked perfectly fine.
Eller was fined with AK at the beginning of the season, AK was on pace for 25-30 goals in the first 25 games... on the THIRD line. So where's the problem? Maybe AK would not maintain that pace.. or that line can be
AK sucked under RC.
Eller sucked under RC.
Guess what.. RC almost never played them together. Especially before the trade.
Wasn't the plan that Budaj was supposed to start 15-20 games or something this season? Wonder what happened to that...
Wonder if anyone regrets having essentially replaced Desjardins with Budaj at this point. These two years couldn't have been used to see if they could develop into a quality NHL backup at all, no... Habs are supposed to be winning now, right? lollerskates.
under JM : on pace for 30 goals
under RC : on pace for 10 goals
Yup. But if you look at other variables maybe it's not as clear cut. He's never been a 30g scorer so that's one thing. He's also super-streaky which affects PPG pace.

If they already planned to trade or not keeping him, trade him when he was playing well which was in his first 25 games of the season. Terrible management.
See I was following you until the last statement "terrible management".
Firstly, it was shown time and time again that there is no such thing as "showcasing" a player you weren't going to play in the first place. No one does it in the way HFboarders think. Teams expose players coming off injury sometimes - like Moen for that one game - but that's it.
Secondly, why sell off a player early in the season when you still have a chance at the playoffs? How is it terrible management to sell only when the playoffs are out of consideration?
Thirdly, AKost has shown time and time again to be ridiculously over-hyped, over-valued and over-used. Maybe he pulls it together, maybe not. He's 27, he's not a kid anymore. He's running out of excuses too.
He's something like top 10 in minutes played, has a sick +/- and is chipping in offensively. He's playing the top matchup every night.
And if you haven't noticed, he's the top pairing Dman for the Rags, the best team in the East. It'd be incredible for a guy that's at the top for the best to not be at the top of the worst.
He'd just be misused and improperly developed in a losing, poisoned environment here. I really don't see any way he'd be our best d-man at a time like this. He's learned from better teachers than ours. Doesn't excuse the Gomez trade but if we've learned something it's that the Habs prospects are great... as long as other teams bring them along.
