So, myself along with several other people get together about twice a week for some pick up roller hockey. We usually play on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. We would like to have some more people though, especially goalies. All skill levels and ages are welcome.
We have an email list where we plan the games and everyone confirms their attendance. If you are interested give me your email and I'll add you to the list.
The location is in "the run" which is located in Greenfield, right off of 2nd avenue where it enters Hazelwood.
It's right behind Big Jim's In The Run (I think it was featured on Man vs Food). The address is

I play there w/ Ziggy, and we could def. use more players. To echo what he said...we usually have pretty comptetive games and usually have a goalie or two. We've had an email list going around for a few years, but it seems like we have been losing players recently.
So if you or a group of friends want to join us, let us know. We usually play wednesday evenings and saturday afternoons, but if we can find more players, we could def. play more often/other days.
Oh and we are always looking for goalies!
Now that the nice weather is back, im def. lookin to play more hockey outside!
I'm assuming this is right down by panther hollow? I'd definitely be interested, as I go to Pitt, and can never find guys to play with. Wednesday nights might be kind hard to make, but Saturdays would be great
9 minutes from my house according to google maps. Question though, what kind of playing surface is it? Asphalt or sport court and is it indoors or outdooors.

Clay concrete. Typical outdoor hockey surface. It is outdoors but its directly under a bridge.

Yup, its not too far from Panther Hollow. We actually play at Panther Hollow in the winter when/if it freezes...always nice to get some pond hockey in. Unfortunately its been a really warm winter, so not much luck this year with that.

Like Ziggy said, its clay concrete, good surface for roller hockey as long as your wheels are hard. We have one NHL regulation net down there, and we bring another net when we have two goalies. We used to have big games there all the time, with 15-20 players showing up and making 3 teams. Recently we'v been having 5-10 guys show up, so im hoping with this post and the warm weather coming up, we can go back to having bigger/better pickup games.
So what's the gear, just blades and a stick for skaters? I'll bring my blades down & if it works out pick up a throw away stick at a local store.
I'm not a runner, 1st marathon and raising money for charity but would like to find some other activities to take part in while myself and the GF are in town.

i highly recommend it. everyone there (5-6 yrs ago) were awesome. i cant remember anyones name but there was a guy named Dave who was super cool. always had a good time.

We usually play around 530 on wednesdays and 1 on saturdays. And other random days where its just nice out and people wanna play.
Im not sure on this wednesday, as it kinda gets dark around 615-630 still. We might wait a few weeks before going on wednesdays, just to give us some more light. But we should def. be playing this saturday.

just an update, we'v gotten a nice response and it looks like a bunch of guys from hf have joined us lately.

Is that rink really that tore up? I just moved here over the winter and the Green Tree rink is maybe 2 min from me. I've been eyeing it up, but I never see anybody there.
I might give that rink a shot. I work 8-5 once a month, so there's probably a few weeks that I won't make it.
