I'd keep Subban over Pacioretty. I guess I'd trade Pacioretty for Couture, hypothetically, and obviously for Kane. Maybe for Benn or Alzner. So I have Pacioretty around 6th in a re-draft, with some other players nipping at his heels, which is still great.

With his 25th goal, Pacioretty becomes only the third player drafted in 2007 (after Kane and Couture) to score that many in one season.

I still wonder why people laughed at me (last season) when I said that Pacioretty will be a 40 goal scorer in the NHL one day, right now he is on pace for 33 goals and is only 22 years old and has only played two full seasons in the NHL.

Watch and see...

On pace for 33 goals and he has basically nothing on the powerplay. He gets enough shots to be a 40-goal scorer at least once with a high-percentage season. What a great player.

I hope we can land a few more picks for Timmins to work his magic in this years draft. We need to fill the prospect pool.

I have confidence we'll draft a good player wherever we fall.
6 points from a play-off spot is so reachable, got to wonder if we were to make it, could this crappy team over achieve and have a cinderella run. It would be fun to watch plus knocking out the Laffs would be pretty awesome

.

Scored his 27th and 28th goal of the season. Don't look now, but he might turn out as the best sniper of that draft.

Maybe because we are comparing a trade that sees a guy play his 2nd NHL season to guys involved which careers are over, but when all is said and done, chances are it will be really damn close.....And clearly top 5 in Habs history. And the Ribeiro one will also end up to be one as well.

factor in the salary cap reality/impact, and its easily one of the top-5 worst trades of all time...

people need to remember that McD is just getting started, not at all unlikely that he ends up a norris trophy candidate/winner before things are said and done... and Valentenko is still 23 and improving year-to-year.

the trade is just going to reveal itself worse and worse, amazingly, as time goes by.

It's pretty damm close in my opinion. In this CAP age, the cumulative negative effect of this trade is mindboggling. It's at least in the Mike Milbury world of bad trades.

Max has 35 pts in 46 games which puts him on pace for about 60. He has last year's number to back it up in case anyone thinks this season is a fluke.

My ranking would be:

1. Kane
2. Pacs
3. Perron
4. JVR

BTW- Eller and Subban are arguably in the top 10 as well.
What about McDonagh ?

Max is gonna finish with more goals than the career high of the guy everyone considers the number 1 pick in that draft, so he's definitely up there. Top 3 for sure, cause Jamie Benn is my number 1. He's a BEAST!!!

Great season for Patches. Hope he keeps improving and becomes a perrenial 30 goal scorer, that would be swell.
