Strickland tweeted D'Agostini is improving, with skating right around the corner.

Russell and D'Agostini skated for the first time today since their concussions per Rutherford.

I would think their returns will be quicker since they haven't been out as long.

Funny how when the team wins, no one cares much about tracking man-games lost.

According to Jeremy Rutherford on twitter: McDonald is week to week and will be re-evaluated in two weeks but is expected back for the playoffs.

Honestly, I take that as good news. It probably hurts the chances the Blues get the President's Cup, but I think they should still be able to hold onto the Central (which in my opinion is the most important thing).

Meanwhile, we'll get back a rested McDonald. He should be able to keep his conditioning up with this type of injury, so I expect him up to speed pretty quickly when he does return.

After how it looked initially, I'm really happy to hear this.

I'm not going to get my hopes up about Steen, but this is pretty good news.

It doesn't say if Steen "feeling great" means that he has been able to elevate his heart rate without significant side effects, so I'm not going to get my hopes up too much there, but the rest of that news is all very encouraging.

I'm sensing that guys like McDonald and Backes are going to take slightly longer off than they strictly need to, since the team's fate isn't in peril and a healthy playoff line-up is starting to become the main priority.

That said, Backes won't stay out of he doesn't have to.

It sounds like this team might actually be close to getting healthy! A lot of forwards have fairly minor injuries and should be back soon but if they can actually get Steener back...watch out! I'm trying I not get too excited about the Blues' Cup hopes since it usually takes a year or two of not making it in the playoffs for a team to "get it" and truly know what it takes to win a Cup but this is a very solid team right now and should be even better if they can get fully healthy.

It's funny though that the Blues might have to call up someone from Peoria for Wed's game as all of McDonald, Backes, Arnott, & D'ags are questionable at this point...but then have all of those guys back a week from now.

Good News!

Just read on Facebook that McDonald is already practicing with the team. Anyone have any news on Steen?

Steen just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico.
(sorry...that's the first thing I thought of seeing the headline).

Steen is expected to join the team in Anaheim on Tuesday and is feeling really good. He might not be too far off.

And D'Agostini and Russell are joining the club for the roadtrip and are expected to be in action at some point, since they are traveling.

Steen is joining back up with the team (not ready to play or anything yet) when they hit the west coast. Apparently that hyperbaric chamber stuff has worked well for him.

Sounds good. And yes Stealth, I was going to put a sarcastic Geico comment in there, but decided not to lol.

Could we actually be 100% healthy for the first time in 2 years going into the playoffs?

Pretty unbelievable isn't it? We have yet to see this teams full potential and we're tops in the league.

and with the power of the schwartz on our side will have legit scoring threats throughout all four lines and all three dpairings if were fully healthy... think about it... maybe not the fourth line but sobotka can score a little and i assume he would be with nichol and reaves if were fully healthy on the fourth line.

Steen - Backes - Oshie
McDonald - Berglund - Perron
Schwartz - Arnott - Stewart
Sobotka - Nichol - Langenbrunner

Huskins - Petro
Jackman - Shattenkirk
Colaiacovo - Polak

Scratches: D'agostini, Porter, Reaves, Crombeen, Cole, Russell

I think you sit D'agostini as long as Schwartz plays well in the next nine games. D'agostini only has 18 points through 52 games. If Schwartz can perform as well as him there's no reason not to give him the playoff experience.

Sit Cole and let him experience the atmosphere. Still maturing. Russell and Colaiacovo is a toss up, but I think Colaiacovo gives us a better powerplay.

It sucks to sit any of those guys though.
