I also noticed our D seem to know exactly when to pinch. A few nights ago I was getting covered like crazy by 2 guys, and as soon as I skated away from the right side hashmarks, both guys followed me. Immediately our D jumped up into the play and took the easy, uncontested pass and rifled a shot into the top corner.

I love those type of plays, because they remind me of real hockey.
Indeed. I think Jrock and Frank have heart-framed pictures of me on their desks for the number of times I've fed them for a bullet one-timer.

I'll expand a little more on my last post.

First of all, I think as a team we need to switch our play style up a bit. By that, I mean we need to move the puck more and quicker. In the offensive zone, let's try to cycle the puck more. Obviously there are times where the forwards need to go for the net off the rush. But there are times where you guys need to slow the play down, control the puck and wait for support.

Once you gain the zone, there are plenty of ways you can start the cycle..I'll only name a few since we all have great hockey knowledge and know how a cycly works. If you're coming down the wing, you can charge up a pass and send it along the boards, behind the net, to the other winger, obviously only if you see he's in position to retrieve the puck first.

There's also a little play Joel and I do from time to time. He enters the zone with the puck on the left side, he sends a pass back to me and I send it quickly right back at him. For the most part, when Joel gives it to me, it draws the forward towards me and the d-man heads to the front of the net. When he gets the puck back, he has plenty of space to do whatever he wants.

We also need to use the back of the net more. Depending where the puck is in the offensive zone, we need someone in back of their net. Let's say Joel has the puck on the left boards near the circle/near the corner, the C should go behind the net, and the RW somewhere nn thei slot or next to the net. If the LW passes it behind the net, then the RW should move the right corner or right circle. Everyone just has to keep moving.

One last thing we shoud work on. If one of the forwards recieves a pass in the neutral zone and doesn't have space to bring the puck in, try stopping and quickly pass it to another forward who has speed. This one is kind of hard to explain, but I know Joel knows exactly what I'm talking about!

We should really focus on these things when we play scrub teams! If you guys want to add anything, go ahead!

A few good laughs last night, especially when Bud scored via the most unnatural deflection(s) in hockey history, and when the opposing players went to double team Eagle, but eagle decided to forget the puck and the two players rammed into each other, causing an injury. That was golden.

Ah, yes. I, for one, had nothing to do with this exchange.

And just for the record, anyone who plays on my wing becomes a 4pt/game forward. Just saying

Come on now, I'm the one who told you to tell eagle about it!

Btw, I have VHL at 9 and 10, I'll be up for some games after!

Too bad next game I am going full-dangle mode. No passing whatsoever.

Triple dangle to the single backhand from 35 feet away, all day baby!

Here comes the pain!
