Or maybe he's matured as a player and is playing more intelligently. He's scoring better than ever as a result. I'd rather have a guy play 80 games and get 80 points and play slightly less physically than 50 games and 40 points while trying to destroy everything that moves.
As for your logic of getting hurt and coming back less physical. It's pro sports. Every player is constantly injured and yet you don't see as a general rule guys being less physical following each injury.
It's always nice to have both. But I'd much prefer a guy who can put the puck in the net if I had to choose.
Max has some size and isn't afraid to get physical. He won't be Lucic in terms of rough play but I think we're all okay with that as long as he plays his game and continues to produce. He looks like he could be our best forward in a long time and if he is then there's something really positive to look forward to because I think that gives us THREE legit players to build around for the future.
It's just too bad we wasted our time with the likes of Gomez these past few years instead of fully committing to getting other players to build with these guys. At the end of the day though, having a trio like this to build around is very exciting.
I'm getting ahead of myself though... let's just hope he stays healthy...
I am confident he will hit 30, he was on pace for it last year before the injury so he has the ability for sure. As for 35, maybe but if not this year next year for sure.
Should lock this thread, and start a new one when Max Pac is back. As it stands now he will be on pace for 30 goals once he comes back from his suspension.
He was the steal of my fantasy league, thanks a lot Shanascam
Pacioretty was showing huge flashes of becoming a power forward, but that was pre-Chara Pacioretty.
I dont think that the Ogre hit changed his game at all. I do however feel that his hit on Letang and his subsequent 3 game suspension took alot of the hitting out of his game. He said himself that guys in the league no longer know what is a safe hit and whats not and his play has changed somewhat since the suspension. He is our best forward and Eric Cole has really helped him, it seems every time they are on the ice there is a scoring chance. I would really like to see Eller or Plekanec play with those 2 for a couple games.

They are playing with the guy tied for the most points on the team. Why would you want to split them?
I agree, sometimes I find myself disappointed with Pacioretty, he seems to float a bit, but as long he gets 25 plus goals I'll never have a problem with him. He's still young, so the power part of his game may develop.
I voted under, but I expect 25-30g without injuries.
meh, dont care if he floats... whatever he does, as long as he doesnt score another goal it's OK...
I think that a lot of people disagree with me here, and I may get flammed by saying this....
The style of Pax is quite similar to Ryder, Vanek, Ryan, Cheechoo, Dagenais. One dimensional player that is good at nothing else than shooting.
First of all, putting Dagenais in there.... is just saying you don't know hockey. Dagenais couldn't skate... well, i'll spare you 'cause he couldn't do much of anything.
Vanek now, he's 23 goals 26 Assists. For someone who can't do anything else then shoot... he's pretty balanced. And have you seen him pass ???
I won't lose too much time debating this with you but you can't be further from the truth. Pach skates VERY well, he's a big body and yes, he can shoot.

fu***** selfish player, trying to ruin the tank!
Oh come on, a goal here or there doesn't hurt...if no one else scores and/or our defense is turrible, and I must say, our defense is indeed turrrrrible.

Give Eller a chance to prove his offensive talent. Put DD with Borque and whoever else and see if he can help Borque get going. He gets lots of room playing with Cole and Patches who do the heavy lifting. It would be interesting to see if he can keep producing with other players.

You should get flammed because it's a stupid thing to say. Pacioretty was known as a passer first, it wasn't until he was in the AHL with the Randy's and they put him on a line with Desharnais did he start lighting up the goals. At the time of his first recall he was leading Hamilton in assists as a rookie.
Hab fans certainly have a lot of skilled youth to look forward to in near future. Not just Pacioretty, Price, Eller and Subban - this year we should be drafted highest we drafted since Carey Price. Leblanc, Gallagher, Tinordi, Beaulieu are all good prospects. Not too mention at least 4 picks in top 50 of 2013 draft.
