Sure would be nice to have a solid NHL level call up to play instead of John Scott as a F .
Also no more Eminger he always has and will suck , let Stralman play his way out of his funk at least he can move the puck . If anything let's promote Staal back up , bump down mcD to rest him a bit and play MDZ who since his hip as been less noticeable on 3 pair
LoL 5-2 win? How do you figure, man? I'm all for optimism but let's be at least a little realistic here: I'm gonna say 3-2 win, and that's me being hopeful. Wouldn't mind a 1-0 win either just to prove that our defense can keep a superior offense at bay.
Optimism at its finest. We gotta get back on track and I expect a great effort after our last few performances.
Plus everyone is picking us to lose, so no better time to get a big win.

I don't necessarily disagree with most of this, but MDZ had 2 assists against Boston...
Statement game tonight. Team has been inconsistent lately (5-3-2) and has struggled against Ottawa this season. With the Pens breathing down our necks a win would go a long way to keep the sky from falling around here. lol
I get that everyone is looking at the standings and getting worried about Pittsburgh, but let's put some perspective here:
It took the Penguins winning 7 straight games, while the Rangers went 5-3-2 over their last ten (essentially .500 hockey), to even get within 4 games (6 points, +.5 game for game in hand, +.5 game for tie breakers all of whom are the Rangers).
If the Rangers play only .500 hockey for their remaining 16 games (plus win the one game in hand), and finish with 109 points, the Penguins would then need to go 12-3-1 in their remaining games to finish on top of the Rangers. They are capable, for sure, but it's already a VERY tall task for any team to accomplish at this point.
Sure, it's nice to win, and sure, they are coming on strong late, but the Rangers had built up such a cushion that despite them streaking like crazy while the Rangers piddle in mediocrity, they are still quite a long-shot to close the gap by season's end.
That said: Statement win + 4-game run. Division over. Conference over. President's Trophy firmly in hand. Bring home the 1-seeds.

He has showed up on the score sheet and made some good passes but lugging the puck and playing that hard good strong stick on the puck physical game he has adapted looks as expected to be off a bit . No knock on DIZZ , he's hurting I'd just like him McD and G to be healthy for the POs and not having to Play so many minutes each night ..
I am not on the Bickel is horrible bandwagon and feel his skating is not that bad , he is not afraid to move the puck either by a little skating or passing play and when he does jump into the play tends to get a good low shot on net . Is he Sauer ? NO absolutely not but IMO he is much better than Eminger at this point who is nothing more than a Garnet Exelby run around like a chicken without a head plug who can only bang . Bickel has played well enough as a bottom pairing D Man , and if NYR want to have McD , and Girardi back to their dominance need to distribute the mins more equitably and let them heal up and be fresh for April
If we play the kind of defense we played in front of Lundqvist against the Devils than this game will be a blow out. We can't make these kind of mistakes against a team with Spezza, Karlssson, Michalek, Alfredsson, etc. They're an offensive juggernaut right now.
I know people we state "Duh... well we're not in a 20 game losing streak right now, you can't win them all" etc etc but we haven't played good hockey in 3-5 games now. I really want to see this team bounce back. They're routinely getting outplayed, giving up major scoring chances, and just playing sloppy hockey overall.
And PLEASE Tortorella, do not match Boyle against Spezza!!! That was a nightmare last time. He's not an elite shut down center, do not match him against the other teams top forward.
i dont understand why you're starting marty. Our defense may suck but our offense sure doesnt.
the guy's basically a .500 player vs ottawa on his career, so it's not like he's got our number or anything.
also, just noticed marty's played 16 decisions, 10 of which are on the road. Why doesnt he play as much at home? Coincidence?
