Played high school when it started, graduated in 2002. Went to the state championship my senior year but lost. I broke my wrist in the state playoffs and didn't play in the championship game.
Played for MTSU when we started the team there.
Also, played open hockey for the first time in 6 years today. Damn I'm out of shape.

So my memory escapes me as to who made the finals before MJ-Houston did in 03 (in other words 2002) , but I'm gonna guess Centennial or Brentwood? They were always really good.
Apparently some of the Brentwood people cried and complained, and the year after I graduated there were no more metro teams.
I don't know about this year but I do know the last few years they had teams for guys who's high school didn't have hockey. However they weren't official GNASH teams. They just scrimmaged GNASH teams.
If you ask five people, you'll get five different reasons to hate Brentwood.
My high school (DCHS) never had a team, but there was supposedly some interest in fielding a team at some point. Still hasn't happened, probably won't. I would love to see Dickson have a team on the ice, though, and would definitely turn out over the holidays to watch them play.
Bumping this thread now that tournament time is here!
The Blue division final is set. FRA/USN takes on Indy-Page at 7:05 Friday at Centennial for the Henry Hines Cup.
As for the gold division, I know Ravenwood beat Centennial to move on the the championship, but I have not heard if Brentwood or JPII took the second spot.
EDIT: Brentwood beats JPII. Final is Brentwood vs. Ravenwood.

My son played for LaVergne when they had a team. Yeah, they mostly sucked, but he was (and is) pretty good. He plays Centennial rec league some, is healing a wrist injury now (hit by a puck).
Our list of teams we hate was thus pretty long. Some were respectful even as they pummeled you., if you know what I mean...
