Who has additional picks in OHL Priority Selection
With all the trading at the deadline I am curious as to which teams have multiple picks in early rounds. From other posts and what I remember from the trade deadline Kingston has 4 or 5 picks in the first 3 rounds and Niagara has traded away any 2nd round picks.
Well if you look towards the last OHL draft both Adam Bateman and Max Domi were deemed defective. This means both Kingston and Niagara should receive compensatory first round picks. Kingston should have two picks in the top 9. In the trade which resulted in Domi moving to the London Knights Kingston received 3 second round picks (Guelph and Erie's 2nd round '12 picks and LDN's 2nd rd pick '15). Kingston traded Guelph's 2nd round pick for Billy Jenkins and since has gone from Niagara, and now resides with Mississauga. This results in Kingston getting 3-4 picks within the top 30ish.
-Saginaw received a 2nd rd pick '12 from Barrie
-With the trades of Cramarossa and Anderson Mississauga gained Kitchener's 2nd rd pick '12 from Belleville and Guelph's 2nd rd pick '12 from Sarnia.
-Erie gained Sudbury's 2nd rd '12 pick from London in the McKegg deal
-Owen Sound got a SSM's 2nd rd pick '12 from Oshawa in the Petgrave deal
-SSM acquired Plymouth's 2nd rd pick '12 from Oshawa
- Saginaw acquired Osh's 3rd Rnd '12 from Niagara in the Olesiak deal.
-Oshawa received a 4th round '12 pick from Kitchener
When the season is over you will have a better consensus on what position the teams will be selecting at. The OHL media guide which comes out a couple days before the draft shows all the draft eligibles and what position each team is selecting at. Hope this helps.

If Kingston ha 4 picks in the top 24, then we can almost conclude that they will be a serious contender in 2013-2014 and possible Mem Cup Hosts.
With Gill behind the bench, and Gilmore as far away from the Decision desk as possible, Fronts will become a force to reckon wth.
I can see them drafting 4 players in the top 24 that can step right into the lineup. Who knows, Herbst might fall back enough to be available at pick #22?
Anyone who has a list of their team or other team's picks please share. There are a few who are trying to keep an up to date list of any teams picks they can get. Wish the OHL kept this info up to date and easy to access so people weren't going back and forth trying to up date team's lists through various past transactions.

I think there is a quota for true rookies that can play regular (not counting tourney replacements, kids at pro camps ect... )

can any1 confirm?
I was going to say the same. Pretty sure it's 3. Having too many top picks in the OHL isn't the best either. Plus...as far as Kingston goes, they still need to get these guys to report. If Gilmour couldn't get his pal Tie to send his son there, who can he get to go there? Still...Kingston should be on the upswing with Kujawinski and even a couple of these picks, they should be a contender if Gilmour doesn't screw it up (they should have been a contender last year too).
I Know Erie has two picks in the 2nd 3rd and 4th round i believe. I think the 2nd round picks belong to the Petes (Yogan trade) and Sudbury (from London in the Mckegg deal).
I know London dressed 6 I believe last year after the deadline... I know it's 4 plus the goalie before the dealline but if injuries occur or suspension you can dress more if the problem arises.

With the Fronts having 4 picks in the first couple rounds, i could see them flipping one of those high picks for some veteran help next year.
I don't think they can trade any of these picks for players as most of the players will still be in playoffs.I'm not sure though?? I think Kingston will hang on to their picks get 2 very good players in the top 10 and 2 good players with the 1st and 2nd pick of the 2nd round.Trade their import picks to get goalie or vet.

They can only trade picks for picks until June 1st. After that though players can be traded for the month of June.
What many teams will do is trade picks as placeholders. Not something that is supposed to take place but it happens regurlary.
If Kingston wants to get experienced players for those 2nd rounders all they would do is trade picks for picks, then trade other picks back for players with the same team after June 1st.
Example would be Kingston trades 2012 2nd for a 2013 2nd and 3rd from another team. After June 1st Kingston trades their own 2013 2nd and third for the player they want to pick up.
Teams can no longer trade picks back to their original team for 13 months same as they cannot trade players back for 13 months.
