Yeah he was really shooting the puck last night, something he normally wasn't crazy about doing a ton in the past.

Earned a PP assist as he wired a slapper on goal and the rebound was banged home for the eventual game winner.

That really shows his character of being hungry to come back and help

So I was taking a look a our prospect pool, and I hate to say it our cupboard is bare.

I really only have high hopes for like 3 or 4 players and they are all dmen.

You have Seimens, Gaunce, Elliott, Barrie who I think are solid prospects but after that it gets kind of ugly.

You have a couple decent goalies in Aitto, Pickard and lesser Millan and Patterson

But when it comes to offense its bone dry. We don't have one prospect I'm really high on. Hishon is a big ? due to his health, Connolly is maybe a 3rd liner, Sgarbossa is a big ? who knows if his numbers will translate, Malone I like but he will be a bottom 6er, I'm intrigued by Nermark but he really hasn't shown much, and Walker may make it as a bottom 6er, same goes for Muers probably AHLer or bottom 6er.

We should really look into trading one or two of our top d prospects for some decent offensive prospects to try to even out our system a bit, because right now we are really weak up front when it comes to prospects.

Except for that part where our entire forward core in the NHL is like 23 and younger...

Why **** with a good thing? we have a great young core of forwards. On defense, we have some older guys (mainly Hejda) holding down the fort until our D prospects are ready to make the jump. What's the point in trading away solid D prospects that should see NHL ice in the next couple years for forwards that will need to crack a top 6 that arguably includes Duchy, Staz, ROR, Lando, and Mueller and McGinn to a lesser extent?

The Colorado Avalanche have the youngest average age of all 30 teams.

Our "prospects" are everyday NHL players.

Congrats to Calvin Pickard who set a WHL record for career minutes by a goalie with 13,713 minutes.

You realize that this is a concern with any prospect, regardless of draft position/status. See, 3rd liner Landeskog.

As far as I am concerned when you are leading the OHL in scoring, you're going to get as good as prospect as you can.

Majority of our decent prospects are in the NHL. But we have a ton of good underrated character players who can play both ends of the ice and a few have solid 2nd line potential.

We have a really bright future, theres not much room up front in a few years.

Landeskog - RoR - Downie
McGinn - Staz - X (Hishon, Sgarbossa, Parise )
Olver - Duchene - X
Mcleod - McClement - X

While both Hishon and Sgarbossa are question marks, which prospect isn't? Even if they both don't pan out (Which I doubt) we'll still be sitting pretty. I'm really loving the way Sherman has built this team. Not going to lie I was skeptical last year, but he's done wonders for this organization. If our prospects play to their potential, we'll have a very balanced team.

Jones, for a decent price, could easily fill in one of those "X"'s.

Im hoping the Avs re-sign Jones to a 2 or 3 year deal worth about 3 per.

After that just plant his arse next to Stastny and McGinn and DO NOT TOUCH that line.

I think our forward lines look pretty set for next year:

ORLANDO
Olver-Duchene-Mueller
McGinn-Staz-Jones
McLeod-McClement-Kobasew

With Malone, Connelly and maybe Hishon/Sgarbossa knocking on the door.

I could see them looking for an upgrade on Olvers spot and have Olver as insurance if Mueller goes down.

The D however needs some major work

xxxxx-Johnson
Hejda-ROB
Wilson-xxxxx

Hopefully the bottom pairing guy can be filled by a hopefully much improved Elliott or Barrie or possibly even Gaunce. The top pairing guy is someone we dont have in the system. Maybe it will be Siemens in the future but not for the next couple years at least. Suter obviously is just perfect for that role. B. Stuart, Garrison maybe even Carle would all be decent options for the short term.

Don't rule out the Avs trading to get a guy to play there. The Avs can afford to take on some cash so they can possibly make a move like Florida did this year to get Campbell whos been amazing for them for very cheap (Olesz lol). Same thing happened with Visnovsky in LA.

Does anyone think Hishon could be on the team next year? I know he's had concussion issues but he could possibly make an impression at camp.

We don't even know if he'll ever be on the ice again, so I don't think anyone can really make an educated guess at whether he might make the team next year. It would be hard enough to tell even if he had been healthy all year i would imagine.

Does Hishon just lay around in a hôpital bed all day in a comatose state or does he actually... ya know... do conditioning.

Depends on what he can do I guess? Some guys can't even ride a stationary bike without basically going into convulsions. No idea what his status us

He devours hamburger helpers.

Honestly, no one knows. There's almost no word on his status.
