I think LeBlanc is 60-75% certain to be a top 6 NHLer. 3rd line for him would be if his development(filling out, improving his quickness and shot) does not go as planned.

Holland is more of a tweener at this point, but it's good that he is a smart player and responsible defensively so he is not a "1 trick pony".

Geoffrion needs to rebound from his play this year(except for 3-4 good games in Hmailton). At this point 3rd line is an optimistic scenario for him. He hasn't been bad since his callup but not impressive either, I was expecting a more gritty, agressive and hungry player.

This guy could be a steal and the best player in the deal! ....Bourque does not impress me at all! Very lazy and disinterested!

I agree, we have seen too many of these players come through Montreal over the last few years. I don't like Bourque at all.

I expected him to perform this way.

He's the kind of player that you can't really count on, but he'll get you 20 goals nonetheless. Just what our friend tardo used to be for us.

Would have much rather have kept Ryder in our top 6.

Wow, he needs 3 more assists to become the first WHL player in 15 years to get 80 assists.
Sounds like Gallagher and Holland could be great together next year in Hamilton

I will say it again. It seems our drafting department really did good this year, healthy asset management. The big ? If obviously Kristo, but if we show up with talented teammates for him, why wouldn't he sign with us?

Gallagher-Holland-Kristo
Beaulieu-Tinordi

Plus Leblanc if he doesn't make our team right away next year. Plus this year's draft picks.

Finally, in 2 years, we'll have 4x 2nd draftees to join the team as well.

The night is darkest before dawn.

You've probably stated why already, but how come so long before we can potentially lose his rights ? Isn't this his last NCAA year ?

Holland injured Gallagher. I smell an internal disagreement resulting in trading one, or both of them.

No he's a Junior so he can return to the NCAA next year for his senior year. That's why he doesn't have to be signed till Aug 15th 2013.

As long as he turns out to be good enough to contribute substantially somehow, I guess it doesn't matter.

Hopefully added motivation to put on some pounds and strength, because if he doesn't he's going to get destroyed, even in "just" the AHL. Gonna need to play with people who can actually finish chances, that's for sure, 'cause I suspect he won't be creating too many for himself at the pro (i.e. men's) level.

Save the trade??? Habs dumped a huge cap hit on a dimensing player and picked up a 2nd draft pick in a deep draft. That pick likely will be in the 30-40 range as Flames core is getting a little long in tooth and they have no high end youth ready to step in.

I thought there was a condition where if he did something he would have to be signed before earlier.

After the playoffs, if he decides he is turning pro and not going back for his senior year, we must sign him before June 1st.

He can opt out of signing with the Habs and can become a UFA if he wants to.

Maybe but we won that deal the day it was made unless Cammalleri magically turns into a 35+ goal scorer the last 2+ years of his contract.

IIRC we have 5. Our own and Nashville's this draft. Our own, Nashville's and Calgary's in 2013.

If he plays with Iginla, he could. Even Tanguay produces when he's on Iginla's line.

Even Tanguay?

Tanguay is a legitimately good player in his own right.

Don't jump the gun there, buddy. We were in a similar situation a few years back and then the Comedy Tandem of gainey/gauthier shipped out a steady stream of players: Ribeiro, Ryder, Beauchemin, McDonagh, Higgins, Valentenko, Surray, D'agostini, Grabovski, Sergei, Lats . Do you know what we have to show for all those players? Gomez, Palushaj & Pateyrn.

Timmins has proven himself to be one of, if not, the best Amateur Player Recruiter in the business but even he can't help this organization if we get another GM who went to the Gauthier/Gainey school of clowns learning to be GMs.

I saw Holland and Gallagher last night (Tri-City v Vancouver)

I wasn't impressed by Holland. Not very fast or quick. Didn't seem to go all out more than once or twice all night. Definitely not physical. Don't think he had one hit all night. Got knocked down or fell on his own a few times, never quick to get up. Appears rather soft

Gallagher didn't have his best game either. Created some chances, feisty. Banged away at the goalie for a loose puck, got a penalty for it. Holland seemed to shy away from that type of activity. Gallagher definitely has some Theo Fleury in him; not as chippy, but not afraid to stick his nose in the fray
