This is what occurs after just about every panther win. I creidt Van Murph for starting this gathering of diehards at the south pantherland exit a year or so ago. The theme is, we are taking back "our house", and want our fans, and visitng fans, to see how passionate we are. It averages about 50 -200, depending on the game.
In this picture we are serenading Ottawa fans last night as they leave wishing them the best, with the all too famous nananana, nananana...
Generally its mostly "lets go panthers" as the exiting panther fans join us on the way out.
Certain teams its more passionate for, you all can figure that out.
So this is my invitation to every attending panther fan... feel free to join us. And IF we make the playoffs, well, this could be something really special.
I saw a lot of empty lower bowl seats the other night. Given how well the Pants are doing what's up with that?
Cant tell you what you saw but we havent had less than 15000 at any game in a long time, with some greater than 17000. Crowds in general have been awesome, sans an ocassional midweek vs a boring team.

On TV, it looks more like paid attendance than actual attendance at times, imo.
VanMurph has even joked about it on his Twitter page.
I was watching the Saturday night game between Nashville and you guys. Even in the 3rd I saw a lot of empty lower bowl seats. Being from Atlanta I'm prone to worry about clubs with attendance problems after what happened here.

It was Nashville, not a heavy following, there's ZERO danger of the team moving...and no need to 'worry.'

We're still a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs in a decade+. If the team makes the playoffs, the crowd will be buzzing again. At this point, only the diehards care about this team. While it's been an exciting year for us, they really haven't accomplished anything yet in the grand scheme of things to bring out the casual fans on a consistent basis.
A playoff series would create some more excitement about the team not only this year but going forward, as well.
South Florida is full of bandwagoners; if the team is successful, the fans will come.
As it is, I think we have a pretty good group, all things considered. You can't expect an entire fanbase to consistently attend when the franchise has been bad for so long.

To me it looked like many left early (watched a crappy stream though), because we had no chance scoring on Rinne. And when the Preds went up 3-1, you saw less and less people..
Like Erick said, there are so many bandwagon fans in Florida, that would jump if the team played well and made the playoffs. And we have to compete with so many other sports teams too..

Oh, I'd love to see the look on exiting Devils' fans faces after we beat them at home in the playoffs. But I moved to Georgia a few months ago, it'll be tough to get down there. I'll try.
I've never been to a home game vs. the Rangers or Habs. In my experience Devils fans were the most annoying visitors.
With all due respect, do you know how many people told me Atlanta was too big of a market to be forsaken by the league?
Now granted your owners seem to be improving the team.
Nothing to do with "market". The panthers are part of a entertainment group with a 30 yr sweetheart deal lease for our amazing arena and ARE GOING NOWHERE. (seArcH SSO for details)
We feel horrific at what happened to Atlanta and it was inexcusable but all we can do is invite you to become a panther fan as other thrasher fans have! We would adopt you with open arms. The good news is: you've missed nothing down here the last 10 yrs!
So bongo come down for a game, and join us at panther land after!

Nothing, nothing compares to habs fans on the annoyance level. Their sense of entitlement makes me as a Yankee fan blush. This really stemmed from years of van murph caftan and the rest of us exited with what we call " the walk of shame". my son and I would endure years of "ole" crap as we left our own "house".
We enjoy their departure after every win this year, with New Year being oh so sweet.the sheepish look on the throngs of habs fans as we, the Panther Patriots ( hey I just made that up) sang god bless America as they exited, well priceless.
Markstrom, if we make the playoffs, you got to make the trek. We need you!

Thank you for the invitation but I've adopted Nashville as my new hockey home. It's only a 4 hour drive. But, I'll be pulling for you guys to make the playoffs.
One more word of advice. A roomful of lawyers can make that sweetheart deal vanish quicker than cupcakes at a pot party.

Ok big guy, I know misery loves company, but its all good here, so let it go.
Good luck with Nashville and post here about our cheering moving forward.
I will definitely make the 3 1/2 drive down come playoff time. Don't care what excuse I have to give work about calling in sick. This will be a moment that even younger teenagers have never seen this team do.

Not sure what your fascination with us moving is, but it ain't happening. Not anywhere in the air, not remotely. You're not sharing anything we don't already know, we're all well aware. You picked a Nashville game to watch, and haven't seen any of the others. Plenty of other arenas with some empty seats. We still pack a pretty good house even after a decade of failure.
We will have to bump this come playoff time for all of us out of town folk. My dad and I plan on coming down from Gainesville to see our feet game or 2 since we moved four years ago, and I'd love to get in on this! My favorite live panther memory was beating the habs on my birthday in 2007 and saying goodbye the whole way to the car... And that was a regular season game! I can only imagine the fun we will have come playoff time.
I was there for the senators game. It was great to hear the fans cheering on the way out of the BAC.
As for attendance I was sitting in lower bowl behind the panthers bench and it looked pretty full from my point of view. I think they said just under 16k for that game.
The canadiens game I went to the week before was definitely a sell out and I went to a Monday night boston game earlier in the year which was a sell out as well. At the boston game boston fans started chanting lets go bruins and panther fans fought right back with lets go panthers.
On several occasions you had lets go bruins, lets go panthers chants, which made me proud that the fans fought back. We lost in overtime but one of the best games I went to fan wise.
I agree with some of the other posters it just depends whos playing on how the crowd is.
i always make these gatherings. the 4-2 win against Montreal was my favorite. soo many habs fans left with a big loss. IT WAS AWESOME!!! lots of"go home habs go home habs" "first place cats, last place habs"chants were heard . these gatherings are fun and awesome.

On the other hand it was 2nd team Atlanta, so fans must have gotten used to it. Maybe they get 3rd chance.

Hey Markstrom Rules, I too moved to Georgia from South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale). I took my wife and kids to BAC to see the Panthers and the Trash... I means Jets play on Halloween. Even though we lost, we had a great time. You can still support the Panthers from Georgia, it would just be a little harder.
