It's 8 and while I think the Wild have been trying to take that page, they should probably do it with better talent instead of the Lundins and Chad Raus of the world.

You know until you mentioned him, I had completely forgotten we still had Lundin on the roster.

Thank you! finally people are noticing that Haula could be a diamond in the rough. He could very well become a stud 2nd line winger in the future IMO. Not bad for a 7th round pick!

here is a link for those of you who have espn insider. Pronman ranks the top 12 prospects overseas, the Wild have Granlund(1), Brodin (7), Larsson (11).

He has already bested my preseason prediction of 12+25. I think he will see some NHL time; not sure about "stud 2nd line winger", but I think his playmaking and vision are NHL calibre.

A lot of it has already been said but Dan's take on Haula last weekend.

The other thing about Erik and his 38 points is that he was hot early and tailed off. It looks good on paper but at the same time, 12 of them came in 5 games against Sacred Heart, Vermont (last place team in Hockey East) and Niagara.

Since we have a lot of potential at forward, is someone like Haula expendable for a defenseman prospect? In other words, is he someone you would like to keep or do you feel his value would be better served in a trade as a part of a package or for a defenseman prospect of similar potential?

He's 100% expendable, but really has no value. He'd be worth maybe a 4th or 5th round pick?

My feeling is that he is expendable as well. But, since I am not in MN, I have not paid attention to the Gophers like I used to. In fact, his highlight from last weekend are all I have seen. That is why I asked about his value. I was hoping for 2nd/3rd rounder or a defenseman that has top 4 potential but likely to be a 5th/6th. Thanks for your response.

He'd be a part of a package, if anything. He and Clutterbuck could be enticing to some teams. His stock has definitely risen since he was drafted, so I'm kind if interested to see where it ends up.

Oh our beloved Senator the Comedian.

I wonder if he knows how to play defense. Or goal.

Sign him now. We cant take the chance that some other team gets him.

He now has 12 points in his last 11 games. 7g 5a. Games we needed very badly to win a regular season title. I'll give you his play has been a bit inconsistant but Warning is not on the same level as he and Hansen are, throw Rau, Buddish or Condon on that line and i bet Haula shows up on a regular basis on the stat sheet.

Since again there's no way to embed FSN videos in here, Erik Haula Goes "Beast Mode" Take Two

Also, he's both blonde with the rest of the U and approves of the use of beast mode.

I'll give you that Warning is not up to the level of Haula and Hansen but I don't think that makes a difference It's been the same when Ambroz was in there, it was even worse the Denver game when Haula played with Bjugstad and he plays with Rau and Bjugstad on the power play.

Do you think Haula get signed this year? i have a feeling that we'll give him another year in college then sign him after that, partly to give him some consistency and party to avoid having to sign like 12 prospects in 3 years.

That photo of Lucia on FRB blog makes him look like he grew, kid is tall.

OT: Thanks for pimping my ****** Terhar ripping phoenix video i feel like a movie director.

Lucia was 6'3 when we drafted him I think. Sniper, big body, coach's son...he could be a steal.

I would be shocked if Haula was signed.

And you're welcome!

I think so, it could be a very savvy pick. Talked to a scout who said he was sold on Lucia when he seamlessly stepped in and played with the USNTDP for a few games last winter.

I think the MNHS stigma (and there is one) tends to scare off teams because I see the same collection of NHL scouts from different teams at the same games, but I think this version of MN's scouting staff is unafraid of it.

Bloody hard to estimate the ceiling of a 17-18 year old. He certainly has the size and pedigree you can't teach.
