Considering that neither was signed until after Holloway left for Europe, it's reasonable to believe DL at least had Holloway pencilled in for one of their spots.
Odds are that if Holloway had even a decent camp, he'd have started in LA.
Besides, isn't Holloway waiver eligible? If so, I'd assume it's almost a guarantee he was pencilled into the line up.
One has to ask whether or not the Kings would have bothered to sign Moreau and/or Hunter if they had Holloway and Moller in camp, fighting for roster spots...

Moreau and Hunter both seemed like emergency signings after Holloway/Moller bounced.
You can't tell me that any GM in his right mind decideds let's sign Ethan ****ing Moreau instead of playing Holloway. Given his statements in the offseason about them nearly calling the guy up with JDub going down....The roster was even deeper LAST season and he almost got the call up.
I have concluded that Moreau and Hunter were both stop gap emergency signings. Really, no one in Manchester aside from Holloway was ready for the bigs at the start of the year. No one was sure what Loktionov was capable of, Cliche/King/Kozun were question marks, Nolan wasn't even on the radar probably.
DL had opportunities to call up Holloway before, and didn't.
Bud didn't think the organization was going to seriously consider him even if he performed well in camp.
King and Moller were ahead of Bud on depth chart. King was called up last year over Bud. I think DL would opt for Cliche over Holloway as well.
Last year isn't this year. King was called up and played pretty bad too.
IIRC, during this boards off-season discussions prior to Holloway heading overseas, there seemed to be a general consensus Holloway was the best option (outside of Loki) for a forward to make the jump this year, especially considering we had lost a lot of our bottom six to free agency or trade.
Just because one player gets a call over another doesn't mean the organization doesn't view the other player higher. Look at Martinez and Voynov for example.
I still feel Bud was pencilled into the line up for at least a 4th line roll, but DL wouldn't guarantee it to Holloway. So Holloway left. Arguably, it was the correct course of action for both involved.
