Sakic and Sundin were definetly on different tiers as a player. I think the gap is pretty huge.
Other one has one season 100+ points other has 6, which last was 2006-2007.
Also, Conn Smythe, Hart, Pearson and Lady Byng are making a pretty good case for Joe.

I would go Sakic though because of his consistency. He was a great player all around. Bure the Russian rocket was awesome and the most exciting player possible I ever saw play. A pure goal scoring speed demon. Him Lemieux and jagr made me a NHL follower forever

he probably wouldn't, but who do you think whalers would like to build a team around, shanahan or lindros? it's not close
shanahan gets too much love for his cups and for being a nice guy, he was at best the fourth best skater on those red wings teams and arguably the fifth most important player
i don't see how shanahan is better than theo fleury, but more on par with him, but i like fleury so i guess that's a compliment in disguise
And Andreychuk with Roberts, not Joseph and Roenick.
Andreychuk might be worse than Joseph and Roenick, but he's definitely a step up from Roberts IMO. Things might be different if Roberts could stay healthy in his prime.
I probably should have clarified that the 2nd gap was quite small, and the only reason I put Bure and Lindros a level down from the other 3 was due to secondary factors such as off-ice conduct and so on. Also when I made that list I was more envisioning "how I think the players will be perceived by the HOF committee", it wasn't intended to be purely my personal ranking of them.

I imagine that's partly due to some interpretations that were posted on the first page, along the lines of "Joe Sakic doesn't need my vote because he will get in anyways, so I'll vote for...".

30% are protesting his inclusion in such a poll. He probably has the finest resume of any retired player not yet in the Hall and he's put up against a bunch of maybes and nevers in this poll.
I voted for Roberts out of spite, but also because I liked the guy, but realistically, he doesn't stand a chance.
Mind-boggling that someone with his international pedigree isn't in there.

I heard more critics about the HOF than positive or praise about it.

You say that a lot about Sakic and Sundin don't you? I don't see it. It should be an automatic call on who you'd want on your team
Sundin was more constant (constant as anyone) performance wise, but normal sakic was has good, and 1999, 2000, 2001 sakic was clearly higher than Sundin (1996 playoff too).
