I don't think Forsberg is physical enough. I think Grigorenko is really our best choice for forwards. if not a forward, Murray is a great choice.

Now we can start worryinig about whether Max gets 35 and then 40 goals. Now that every center on the team except for the injured one is available to him, nothing is holding him back.

Great year for the 2007 draft.

Pacioretty hits a well deserved 30 goals entirely in line with his shots and chances rate. He's the real deal not just on a hot streak.

3 point night for Subban,

Eller looked great and got a goal.

Best Palushaj NHL moments I can think of happened tonight.

And well, I didn't really notice Weber much.

The tanking will likely pursue itself for the next 4 games: Vancouver, Buffalo, Ottawa, Ottawa

Yeah Palushaj showed good chemistry with Gomez. I think Pacioretty would look good on that line (although he would look good on every line in the NHL)

Habs have been the definition of mediocre. Never too bad, but never too good at anything.

"i feel like montreal is the only team i feel like I can come and talk to whenever I need it. They definitely make me feel good knowing they are right there feeling my pain. I just wish we were closer in geography, that way we could drink our sorrows away. together"

-my drunk oilers friend.

Either way, good game. PS....PK Subban is a friggen stud, love the kid no matter how many fights he starts

Eller
Pacioretty
Subban

Good youth right there. I think Eller is right around the corner to breaking out into a 20-20 two-way centerman.

i know many will be disappointed but this tanking may not last...all our cornerstones are under 24.
we have a great young dman and two very solid shut down guys in emelin and tinordi + bealieu
we have a power forward who will push 35-40 goals for a few years
two good young centers, one of whom has 50 points, the other, has doubled his goal totals in limited playing time and may grow into a very solid 25-25 guy
+ some interesting two way forwards coming up
a great young goalie
and 4 picks in the top 60 over the next two years

Can't be too sad if the guys that helped you win were your core. Pacioretty becomes our first 30 goal scorer since Kovalev in 08.

I'd imagine the geography is a plus. If we were closer, we'd be rivals. Being in a different conference is why I don't dislike the Oilers.

He's already on pace for 19 or so goals over an 82 game span, so I don't see why he couldn't do even more with regular PP time and increased ES time as well. Once we see him with more stable (and better) linemates, his playmaking side will come out more as well. He's a stud.

Eller is one of my favourites. With more TOI and PP time, and some good wingers, he could become a solid offensive player. He has so much skill, he just needs to confidence and opportunity, perhaps this DD injury will give him just that.

He's also tops in making opposing forwards look sexy.

Don't hold your breath. They'll give the #1 job to Gomer centring Patch and Cole.

I've read countless times on HF that Subban as been a disappointment this year and I've never really understood it.. By the time the season ends his stats will be similar to last years points wise and his +/- is better this year so far plus he's playing a ton of minutes against top players..

There will be nothing but very good things to come from Subban and to think some here wanted this guy traded..

Plus: their 06' cup run was the stuff of magic. My favorite time watching hockey and I'm a Habs fan. I knew the Halak-Cammy playoffs was ridiculous dumb-luck and just enjoyed it. The Oilers were clicking on all cylinders though, it was marvelous. Jason Smith scored a breakaway goal. I remember my dad and I staying up watching the west coast games during my exams in high school.

Good, good memories.

I cried when the Canes won.
