Just wanted to point out Stan Lee ya he is a comic book writer. He created Spiderman i have no idea what this Stan Lee Cup is and what it has to do with hockey. Now the Stanley Cup Does have something to do with hockey
I'm just saying that's what it sounds like when you chant it. I know who Stan Lee is.
It was supposed to be early March. Sarnia only has six reg season games left. Fortunately they will be a playoff team. AG should get plenty of opportunities to get into game action again before the draft.
"It's non-stop, especially now that this has gotten out a bit that there's a good chance he'll play in March," said Jacques Beaulieu (Sarnia Sting Head Coach and GM) of the calls he was fielding from NHL teams last week. "It's been overwhelming a bit the last couple days."
The microscopes will be out for this kid during the playoffs. If anything, I feel like it will overhype him because for the rest of the season, other prospects have been getting the attention. In this way, anything not short of stunning will sewer his draft stock, and anything construed as above average will spawn "Yapukov or Galynchuk?" threads.
I predict whoever drafts him will either be a big winner or a big loser in the end.... all dependant on where he goes.

I've seen Alex play about 30 games of his OHL career. Whether or not the "Yakupov or Galchenyuk" threads start, the thought process has been there all year. It's just been on hold thanks to the injury. It's not a stretch to believe Alex will be the better NHLer than Nail. He has the talent to do it. If he comes back and looks great, it's not out of the question someone grabs him with one of the first picks.
I live in Sarnia, and have seen the progression in Phoenix prospect Connor Murphy since his return from injury almost 3 months ago. The difference is amazing. He didn't get that much better, the reality is it takes time to get back from the injury. Same will happen to Alex. Unless Sarnia makes it to the Western Conference Finals, we won't see Alex at his full capability. This isn't out of the question however. All 9 teams fighting for the playoffs at one point or another over the course of this past month has looked really good, and really bad. It's gonna come down to who gets hot when the playoffs start.

What do you think about connor murphy how do you think his game will translate for the coyotes?

Probably not the appropriate thread but I also cover the Sarnia Sting and will echo Ryan's thoughts on Gally and Murphy.
Connor has been downright AWESOME over the last 3 months. He's playing exceptional at both ends of the ice showing a great ability to read the play and has pretty soft mitts for a large defenseman. His skating is awkward at times but he gets from point A to point B alright especially with his long stride.
I've been mostly impressed with his offensive side of the game this season. I mentioned this in the Sting thread and on twitter but he's certainly been much, much, much better than his draft mate Jamie Oleksiak in the OHL this season. Pheonix made a great pick here.
The time for Alex Galchenyuk to make a decision is coming up.
He needs to figure out whether he's going to stick with USA hockey or if he'll spend the rest of his career representing Russia or Belarus. In 2011, he represented team USA. I'm assuming he has the option of representing Russia and I know his father is originally from Belarus.
Rule is that you stick with the country that you represent at age 18. Jamieson Oleksiak represented USA up until he was 18, he then changed allegiances to team Canada. He is no longer eligible to suit up for the States.
In Oleksiak's case, it seems like he was using the US developmental program for his own development.
the rule is that if you play in an IIHF tournament you must stick with that country for the remainder of your hockey career. Since the Ivan Hlinka tournament is not IIHF that is why he will still have a decision to make although he has aluded to staying for USA. same thing happened with oleksiak and he decided to switch
He has said before that he will play for the US. I doubt he changes his mind. But if he does its between USA and Russia, who the hell wants to play for Belarus?

It can be changed actually, but it's complicated. Nabokov played for Kazakhstan for example.

Mikhail Grabovski is more than proud to play for Belarus.
He's a very international kid, traveled around a tonne because his dad was a pro hockey player in all sorts of different countries. He was born in the States, but AFAIK he and his family moved around a lot, living in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Russia before moving back to the States, I wonder which country he spent the most time in? Seems like he'll probably play for the States, but you never really know until it happens.
But he was born in the US. Personally I think he will pick the USA or maybe Russia to play with Nail but Belarus doesn't seem like a serious possibility imo.

Being born in the US doesn't mean anything.
He spent the majority of his childhood in Belarus, Germany and Italy.
Not sure when he returned to the US. Probably around 14 years old.
I have a feeling he represented the USA because it was beneficial to him.
