I realize ODAAT is a big supporter, and a great contributor to the board. My apologizes if any offence taken. I may have went a little overboard with my reaction, which is usually my style. However, take a look at Martin Brodeur. Ten seasons straight of 70 or more games played and 12 out of 14 seasons with 70 or more. In 2006-07 and 2007-08 he played 78 and then 77 games when in his mid thirties. Thomas is usually sensational, the odd time he is not has nothing to do with exhaustion and everything to do with just having an off night. I'm the biggest supporter of Seguin and Lucic but realize their performance is not always defendable...their (usually) good but also human and prone to occasional poor play.
None taken, I`m a huge believer in Timmy, and his hardware and body of work has given me reason to be, but I`m also a huge fan of Tuukka and have nothing but faith that he`ll be stellar for this team for years to come.
Tell ya one thing, I don`t care if PeeWee Herman is between the pipes as long as he can stop the puck, right now, neither goalie has played to his potential but then again, there`s 18 guys in front of them who haven`t exactly lent a helping hand.
Again, no offense taken at all, what makes these boards great/frustrating/infurating and addicting, is difference of opinions and intelligent banter between those who don`t agree, tis all good
"But as difficult as it was, I went to bed a hockey player and still woke up like one, and I knew I still had stuff to give in this League. I would really kick myself hard if I missed an opportunity if I wasn't ready. And that's the one thing I could look in the mirror for this season, as this moment, and be most proud of, is I skated as often as I could to be ready for moments like this."

Will he have any purpose/usefulness at all after the regular season? Can he still practice with the team if not on the playoff roster? Can he be the "emergency" guy in the stands if both goalies get hurt?

Not sure about the practice rules, honestly. Also not positive about the injury rules, but the way I understand it, 4 of the Bruins other 5 goalies would have to be injured in order for Turco to dress in the playoffs. So say Thomas stays healthy, Tuukka & Khudobin would have to still be injured...AND Hutchinson & Courchaine would have to be injured as well. That's my understanding, anyway.
As for the mask/equipment, whatever he feels comfortable with. Marty's got enough going against him right now.
Should have started either yesterday or today though. No idea why they bothered to sign him if he wasn't going to spell Thomas. Would have been cheaper to have Hutchinson sit on the bench.

Big mistake by CJ not starting Turco in one of the two games. I have no idea why he didn't.
Yep, the little bit I saw he looked OK. I liked his confidence outside of the crease. The Dupuis goal can't really go totally on him, that was just a freak play at centre ice on in.
I would play Turco the next two games and send TT to the beach.Tim looks like he needs a break ,perhaps it is psychological and not physical but he needs a breather.
Turco looked damn good and confident today.....A one timer across crease with no chance and a breakaway....aside from that he kept the Bruins in the game after Thomas gave up 3.
He was great at handling the puck as well. I hope he teaches Thomas/Rask a few things about that. Except hes twice the skater/stick handler Thomas will ever be.
Need to let him start a few and let Thomas rest and get his confidence back. If Turco keeps playing solid keep him next year. I don't think Thomas will be back. Think Rask gets the reigns. So if Turco plays solid and wants to stick around, let him backup Rask. I'd be alright with it...if not use Khudobin.
