All these people vehemently defending Cutler really have no proof either. You really don't know until he's done with the Bears and the dirt comes out. There was some rumblings in Denver after they brought in another QB - hence he was traded. It wasn't all coach related.
We know he has not been great with the media. He has been known to be an ass in public - even scheduled events which I attended.
Personally I don't care as long as he performs on the field. I'm not his biggest fan but it's not hard to please Bears fans with the garbage QB's on the team through the years. He has the most talent - that's for sure.
He definitely could have handled the post injury after the championship game a little different.

So what he isn't great to the media, who cares the media are a bunch of scum sucking dirt bags anyhow who will trash you without proof just to get a story.
How he handled after that game is just who he is, he is a quiet keep to himself kind of guy who doesn't want to be famous.

Well we are talking about leadership. He didn't talk to the media, went out to dinner that night and was seen walking around Beverly Hills the following day. I could care less but at the same time sports media was questioning the validity of his injury.
His attitude just adds pressure and scrutiny to the team. Take it for what it is. It just made him look stupid.
So then he gets an entire off season questioning his toughness. I don't know but if you have to leave the championship game with an injury. At least hole up for a couple days somewhere. I am knocking him but he brings it on himself. He needs a PR person, that's for sure.

So what, then everyone who questioned his injury looked like an idiot when it was proven that his injury was severe and he couldn't play.
But again what I like about Cutler is he doesn't care what the media or other fans think of him, his teammates like and respect him and the fact that he has been a captain everywhere he has played, Vandy, Denver, now Chicago. He doesn't fit the ideal leader model though so people assume he isn't one.
Have you seen our offense when he was out?
And for a better part, I think Urlacher knows who is a leader. He already said that Cutty is a good leader, same with Lovie and some others on the team
I think Cutler is great. I can't believe people are still bringing up that trash from the championship game. Talk about grasping at straws.
Thank you.
The fact that this debate over his demeanor and stuff is still around just makes me endlessly sad. It's like nobody remembers watching decades worth of awful quarterbacks, or even Caleb Hanie last year. They'd rather remember Cutler's mopey face and judge him on that. Good god.
^ You guys defend him like he can do nothing wrong. You don't admit that part of the leadership and being an NFL QB is representing your teammates and organization in a positive light. This also plays in to free agents wanting to sign with the Bears. That's great if he wants to act like an ass clown but when you have yet to win anything, it will continue to come up.
Bears have also proven that they are unable to surround him with quality O-Line and WR. So the criticism will likely continue.
You think Urlacher is going to openly bash his own QB? C'mon. Get real.
Nobody said he's perfect. Nobody in life is perfect. I'm not looking for a choirboy for the Bears QB. Just a good QB who will keep his nose clean. Cutler does that.
Forte had the same injury this past season and look how much time he missed. Did you monitor if he was walking on sidewalks the next day too?
He has no brushes with the law. And considering the awful talent that has surrounded him in his 3 years in Chicago - I find it amazing that he's stayed as politically correct as he is.
Jerry Angelo might be the only reason Cutler isn't a top 6-7 QB in the NFL right now. He trades for the guy, then puts the worst supporting cast in the NFL around him. Nice guy.

I've said more than my share of negative regarding Cutler over the years, but I've seen what great things he's capable of as well. However, the demeanor argument was so overblown and got so out of hand by idiot experts and overemotional fans alike that I can't compute it anymore. I'm willing to give Jay the benefit of the doubt because I have faith in him and his abilities.
I fail to see how walking around town with your girlfriend is acting like an assclown.
He has done nothing wrong, he isn't running a drug ring like one of his WR was, or like a Bengals WR was, he isn't lighting up his own leg with a gun, he isn't killing dogs, he isn't acting like a D bag to get on TV all the time like TO and so many others.
You also seem certain his teammates don't like him. Do you really believe what Bobby Wade said, a WR for one of the Bears rivals. I'll believe was Urlacher says, plus after the game you didn't hear of anonymous Bears questioning Cutler, like you hear with the Jets and other teams lately. Anyone who questioned his toughness should ****, how many of them play football with Type 1 diabetes?
I don't think he is perfect, but I certainly an not going to question or attack him for petty stuff. You didn't act hurt enough, you shouldn't have been with your girl, you should be nicer to the media, you should act like you care about what people think, you should be a fake person to get people to like you.
^ You just don't get it. QB's and big name QB's are always the face of the franchise. I said it before, he needs a PR person. Never said his teammates dont like him. We really have no idea. If he fails to win anything meaningful these issues will likely be his legacy.

No he doesn't need a PR person. When has he ever said anything wrong? He's just never said meatbally things that fans want to hear.
So do you think Jay is the type of a player that makes others on the field better? Does he prop up the team? He hasn't had a great deal of talent around him but other QB's around the league tend to do this.

Clearly he props up the team, we saw what happened when he went down.
That just indicates he was way better than Hanie and Forte was out.
Forte was there for the craptacular Oakland and Kansas City games.
I'll just say this: Yes, Cutler makes the players around him better. All good QBs make the players around them better. But it isn't by as big of a margin as the analysts would have you believe. Additionally, there are a lot of QBs out there who are very good, but also are surrounded by a ton of talent that makes THEM better. Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, Tom Brady are all surrounded by superstars which makes them better as well. It has to. To think otherwise and just say it's all because of their greatness is silly. Football is a team sport, and as much as a good QB can make a WR look good, a good WR also makes a QB better as well, even if the QB is extremely good to start with.
Didn't expect this to turn into a Cutler thread, heh. Hopefully Tuesday comes along quickly so we can get back to some real actual Bears talk.
Nothing against the kid, but as a non-Skin fan, you know part of you is hoping he busts just to see Redskin nation react.
LOL. For sure!
The crazy thing about this trade, is that the Redskins already had the #6 overall pick. They swapped spots (so the Rams now have that #6 pick) and also picked up the Redskins first rounders in 2013 and 2014, plus a 2nd round somewhere.
So basically 2 first rounders and a second rounder, all to move up 4 spots. I realize that is probably what you have to do to get the guy you want, but that's a STEEP price for an unproven player.

Jets QB Mark Sanchez's new contract is a 3-year extension for $40.5 million, giving him five total years for $58.25 million, with $20.5 million fully guaranteed.
The starting QB with 2nd worst accuracy in league (Tebow being #1) is now the 6th highest paid QB in NFL (Or 7th)
LMAO ,, Jets contending window slammed shut as they will never go anywhere with Sanchez at QB
