What the heck is this rap battle everyone is mentioning? I don't remember hearing about that at all. Was it just mentioned briefly on raw or something?

It's surfacing all over the internet that it'll be a rock concert / cena rap thingymabob on raw next week.
There had been much speculation regarding John Cena calling out The Rock for having notes on his wrist during a recent promo on RAW. While some had stated that Cena mentioning the notes were part of the script, those reports appear to be incorrect. It now appears that Rock had the notes as a reference point, incase he needed them during his lengthy live promo.
A source close to the situation mentions a promo from last year, when John Cena made reference of being able to the see the teleprompter The Rock was reading off of in the reflection. It is not believed that the improvised comments by Cena, which are revealing some of the tricks The Rock uses to perform his promos, is am example of the real animosity between the men.
Also, the WWE Youtube page does not have footage posted of that segment from RAW anymore. This is a surprising move, since WWE has been posting most of the Raw segments to the page, and also that the episode was promoted big time as Rock’s return to the show for the first time since the build to Survivor Series. Finally, all other segments involving the two men are available on the Youtube archive.
There have been other versions of the video uploaded by people not affiliated with WWE, and have not been uploaded with the permission of WWE. There have also been other versions of the video posed by certain international television networks where it appears the notes on The Rock’s wrist are blocked out via a block that is the matching color of The Rock’s arm. Since WWE airs at different times and days in various markets, it would seem that the segment had been edited.
Some now feel that this is evidence of the reports that there are true dislike and competitiveness between the two.
I don't know if there is legit heat between the two guys, but I will say that it sure as hell seems genuine to me
Must suck to be the guy booked to go down at Wrestlemania. I would assume that Rock knew the outcome of the match before he signed off on it. He must be furious if this is all true.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if The Rock and John Cena have legit beef. The Rock has never brought up John Cena as his WrestleMania opponent on a talk show unless the interviewer brought him up for one, which is odd, because you'd try to sell the match, but The Rock just always stated he's returning to the ring at WrestleMania. Never mentioned his opponent Cena.
Also, on Raw, The Rock looked LEGIT pissed off at John Cena too. John Cena's laughing while The Rock was serious looked like it pissed him off.
All I know, is physical altercation between these two shouldn't wait. They've talked since last February with a bit of physicality but that's it. Now, however, is the time for physicality to really get the emotion in this rivalry leading into WrestleMania. The Rock and Cena need to get in a heated exchange this Monday. John Cena needs to question whether The Rock can still really bring it. The Rock needs to tell John Cena he dropped HIS ball for John Cena's monkey ass to pick it up when he left and he's going to take it back.
"You really think The Rock can't bring it? Then how about The Rock brings it right now, *****." And a brawl ensues from there leading to the entire locker room, security and even the ringside crew (commentators, ring announcers, etc.) getting involved to separate the two.
I still have a hard time believing someone who's been giving wrestling promos for 15 years and is a professional actor staring in blockbuster Hollywood movies needs a cheat sheet for a 15 minute speech.

I'm assuming he didn't need it but he probably assumed it wouldn't have hurt to have it in case he for some reason did screw up.

I wouldn't be surprised. These guys can get caught up in the emotion of it all with the crowd interaction and all. I doubt The Rock ever really needed it, but just used it in case he ever lost his train of thought.
CM Punk did the same thing during his "shoot" where he had some notes written down on his wrist tape.

Anyone ever recall him saying he'll rip someones throat?
Zack Ryder @ZackRyder
Just landed in Germany. I wonder if Alex Wright is a Broski?
I wonder how many people even remember who the hell Alex Wright is.
Alex Wright's dance moves are too good for him to be a broski.

See that's the type of raw finale they need to do more often. I haven't seen that close the show in many many years. It's a damn good cliff hanger for a ppv too.
Watch Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston from this past Superstars (3/8/12). Really good, PPV caliber 16 minute match. It's been done many times, but the match was damn great.
The Rock/Cena feud is terrible because the WWE is making their product more like a mens soap opera than a wrestling show. It doesn't even have much to do with the PG rating... I understand wanting to protect your assets, but to me, it's ridiculous that 5 of the 6 people in the 3 biggest matches (Cena, Rock, HHH, Taker, Jericho) of Wrestlemania haven't been active in the ring for a month+.

WWE doesn't know who'll be calling what matches at WrestleMania at this time, and it comes down to Vince McMahon in the end, but apparently The Undertaker's requested to officials that JR calls his match at WrestleMania.
JR is the only man suitable enough to call what might very well be Undertaker's last match. Michael Cole is nothing compared to JR, JR would just make the match feel that much more special. If JR only calls two matches at 'Mania this year, it should be Undertaker/HHH and Rock/Cena.

I honestly can't even picture anyone calling the Taker/HHH match other than good ol' JR. It has to be him.
