The only bright side about potentially losing this game is that the 7 game homestand starts Sunday, and that's as good a time as any to get heads out of *****.

Would really like to see 2 points go up on the board. My flight from Buffalo to JFK lands at 708 so hopefully I'm home in time for this one!

Bench Gaborik and Richards.

They don't have enough jam.

Yeah, that's better than expected.

I expect a slaughter tonight. The guys look exhausted out there.

Girardi with two suicidal turnovers, McD with two of his own. Prust loses a fight, Boyle misses the entire rink on a breakaway and Fedotenko won't score.

I hope last night was rock bottom but I don't think it was unfortunately. I keep telling myself that they're tired and that when their backs are against the wall say... I dunno early next week when they're just 2 pts up on Pitt that they'll turn it around... But this has been bad for a month or so now. They had been gettin pts when they didn't deserve it and winning games they had no business winning.
Now we are seeing accurate results of how they've been playing.

this board is funny. How spoiled are we when there is panic after losing two games
I don't think it's a panic. I think for most of us we watched this team all year piling up points and aside from Hank's unreal play couldn't figure out how this roster was beating everyone. I wondered when the other shoe would drop and as the season has gone on Torts has managed to make the roster worse with his unwillingness to give ice time to anyone who isn't sterling away from the puck. Our problem, which he ignores is that we suck when we have the puck. We have two lines that have no idea what to do with the puck when they have it. Our "3rd" line which is a 4th line on any good team if you assume these three even make the roster of a good team takes the puck and hides behind the net with it.

We have players like Dubi and Hags who are strong 3rd line players playing up and we have alot of youth which is starting to effect us. Also the minutes on McD and Girardi (more Girardi than McD) are taking their toll and as the games have become tougher, MDZ and Stralman are being exposed some (more Stralman).

Face it, step outside the fact that we have 91 points and look at this team and try and tell me this roster should win a playoff round let alone contend for the cup. You can't if you are being honest with yourself. And Torts isn't helping with his arrogant, stubborn approach to everything.

The long term future is bright; near term future, losing faith. And don't resign Biron. He's average and paid to be better than that. Last night we played well enough defensively to pitch a shutout (McD and Girardi completely neutralized Spezza's line) and Marty gave it away. Move on.

Let Biron have this one, let him gain some confidence.

This is a late starter for us, Scandinavs - gamestart is 2.5 hours after midnight lokal time..

Nash now, cap space later, oh wait....

Rick Nash would've provided some much needed scoring during this "crisis", but instead we have hard workers with hands of stone. Give me talent over grinders all day.

Would he have, though? Nothing is a guarantee, and there is a scoring shortage league wide. Why mortgage the farm now for something we couldn't even be sure would pan out?

I'm gonna be bold and go against all you downers and say we will win tonight.

Put Marty in it don't matter redeem for that display against chi at home.

Let hank come bak and hold down most of that home stand.

Get results for the rest of the month and then everyone will be back in I love the rangers they are awesome mode.

Agreed. He shouldn't be getting a regular shift. 5 minutes a game maybe.

I would like to echo the sentiment of PLEASE score some damn goals. Maybe one on the power play even? No, no... that's getting greedy. Just more than one goal.

And don't lose.

We've already given several goalies their first shutout of the year. That's what we do.

Andrew Gross ‏ @AGrossRecord

Biron says of first goal, Zack Smith slap shot, "It was a bomb." Says it was perfectly placed, foot and a half off ice, just inside post.

Great excuse, as bad as Thomas complaining about the lights, a 35 foot slapshot no screen, play your angle right and the puck hits you and not the twine!
