yeah the Flyers just had to have Matt Walker, Jody Shelley and Nik Zherdev instead of Gagne.
That deal still pisses me off. one of the classiest most respected Flyers in the last 2 decades was treated like garbage because Holmgren had to have his tough, useless lockeroom presence tough guys.
I dont care what people think of Gagne. That should of not happened.
Gags was my favorite Flyer until the day he got traded. Still sad about that.
Same here. I really hate that trade.

Even as a a salary dump it was a terrible trade. We took back nearly as much salary as we dealt away (even if it was spread out over three seasons). One year of Gagné for three years of Walker, that's just terrible.
i'm glad this thread was started bc 2 days ago i pulled my gagne jersey out of the closet, i got him to sign it right on the numbers, not only did i get uber nostalgic, but i got a little teary eyed. i miss seeing good old number 12 with the full jersey tuck flying down center ice.
homer, we demand gags come home!!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!

Exactly. I completely accepted the fact that we would be trading my favorite player of all time because we needed to dump salary. It was a failure however.
Gagne is one of the classiest players in the league. It's a shame his play hasn't been so great over the past two seasons. Still, he's my favorite player and I miss him dearly. I'd take him back in a heartbeat, injuries or not.
Still one of my favorite goals all time. Was at the game.
What a hustle by Giroux and a thread-the-needle pass to gagne for the winner.
Followed by an epic goal horn that sucked the air out of my lungs faster than I could scream.
great goal, but WOW. What were both Guerin and Gonchar doing on that play? They both left Gagne wide open. All one of them has to do is stay with him and it wouldnt result in a goal.

Before LA went into that brutal slump, he was 7-7=14 in 19 games, then the teamwide slump and concussion just was bad luck. Id take him back on the flyers in a second.
