The secondary market works for the teams. It pressures some people to buy more season tickets (more money up front to teams which equals guaranteed sales rather than individual games),
True.
I bought 2003 World Series tickets during Game 7 of the ALCS (Ugh) for around 1,000 each. At that moment a dim lightbulb went off in my head that if I had season tickets, I'd be getting in for face.
Two weeks later I bought my Sox seasons (remember being somewhat nervous fronting all that money) and it paid immediate dividends for the 2004 World Series.
how did Winnipeg crack down and pull hundred's of tickets for scalping- I think they had a huge thread on this earlier this year; and was it Stub Hub? I hear the Bruins group that sets the prices (and Cam is major component along with Amy Latimer, Pocket Jacobs, and some new guy who replaced Dan Zimmer, who is from Buffalo and went back to Deleware North) aint happy with this stuff. Not sure what they can do, but if they can pull tickets and revoke my vibe and its a a good vibe they are going to pull tickets. Just saying- there are some seats on that site where I did the math and pre handling fee the seller is going to get 7 times the cost of ticket if sale goes thru and they just might.
I'd love to do it myself but been warned and am to chicken to lose my seats after all these years

Not too sure about that.
Everything is cyclical, so when the team is bad again (and they eventually will be at some point), people would be less inclined to purchase ST if they thought they could potentially lose them when the team (and market) improves.
I'm sure Ace is pressuring them to get rid of ST holders and give them the seats in exchange for a lucrative "signage" agreement.
Sox Tickets...hey guys thinking about heading down to Boston late July, are tix hard to score at that point, through the box office, or will I be facing the scalpers? Any help would be appreciated...thanks.
Anyone have ANY face value balcony seats they're looking to get rid of for any of the remaining home games? I'd like to get to at least 1 game this year without paying crazy Stubhub prices

I have some for 3/29 that were bought off ticketmaster- directly from the team. They are 10th row balcony on the end the B's shoot once- $130/ticket face value.
I also have some better seats that are season tickets in a better location with a face value of $42/each...I will be using those myself though. If you want the $130/face value seats, just shoot me a PM and let me know.

Well played but I'm not buying your purchase of the TM tickets.

You won't have an issue getting seats, or lose your shirt as long as it's not the Yankees. Stubhub Sox tickets are all email printouts. So check the weather, then order. The Red Sox havent been this unpopular since the 1994 strike.

Hey, I didn't say "I" purchased them off ticketmaster. I simply said they were bought off ticket master. He wanted to pay face value...I offered him face value tickets

Thanks for the info, I think they are playing the Tigers, and the twins at the end of july...
Can you guys speak up a bit please? Or at least step down from the horse?
See, I continue not to get this. Im not on a horse. The same couple of people come here and spew drivel that is illogical and its tolerated. Looch and I interject logic and fact and its taken as condescending.
Yeah, the last post was a little jab but the argument has gotten beyond silly when you cant comprehend the most basic human principles.
Brokers or no brokers scalping will exist as long as people exist. Whenever there is a commodity in demand people that dont have it and want it will do what they can to procure from those that do have it. There is no debate about this.
Everything Looch has said is a fact in regards to brokering and the Bruins written and unwritten policies on it. Its no coincidence the rose tinted glasses match pretty nicely with a pink hat.
Lets try an experiment. A seller has 20 tickets available in 325 row 11 on Stubhub right now for the very desirable St Pattys game. Clearly it wont be hard for the Bruins to figure out who the seller is. Why doesnt JMiller call and turn that person in as they are clearly violating the conditions on the back of the ticket and see if the Bruins revoke the account since it is so cut and dry how they feel about it.

Well of course you'd be defensive...you'r a scalper. What you do is reprehensible and unethical.
Now please excuse me while I pay my bill at the brothel.

You two need to get a room, this public courtship is embarrassing.
Sold my 3/19 Toronto game on exchange in a matter of 5 minutes Saturday. Hopefully they will apply it to the playoffs.
You should have sold it to me...I would've even left the seat empty! Sold my 3 pack for Sat. I'm taking my two boys with a loge pair...putting the 6 year old on my lap. This will likely be the last season I can make it work.
edit- My bad...thought you were referring to this Sat against Philly.

Nope not this Saturday. It shall be an interesting game.
