GTHL - 6 teams (Marlies, Rebs, Kings, Flyers, Rangers, Nats)
Alliance - 3 teams (London, Sun County, HP)
Northern NO - 2 teams
OMHA - 4 teams (Barrie + top 3 teams from OMHA's)
Ottawa area - 2 teams (67's and Titans)
USA - 2 teams?
________ - 1 team (any guesses?)

Looks about right. There probably will be three US Teams. If one drops out, then I wager that the fourth place finisher at the OMHA's will take their spot.
Chewer:Most great hockey minds, say that you have to see a player play in the big games and against the best players, to see their value. When they play against inferior talent, that doesnt mean a thing.
Although I respect your opinion in this thread I have to disagree with this statement. I think scouts get caught up in the big pond, big fish concept where if players aren't playing against superior talent then they are cast aside.A great hockey mind would say that they rather see an individual in a routine tuesday night league game as opposed to an ohl cup final game(Exception:Sean Monahan) or a lazy sunday night practice. This is how you tell if the player is bringing it at every turn. These are what professionals are made out of and in the end this is ultimately what we are searching for:who can carry themselves like a professional.
and if they do carry themselves like a professional week in and week out, then Im sure they're performance in the last tournament of the year will be telling of the work ethic they have put in
Lambton jr. sting finished above HP and have OHL ties, don't you expect they will get the third Alliance spot?

In addition to Tigers response. It's determined by central scouting. Generally the teams that benefit the scouts the most will make it. Keep in mind, two of Lambton's top players are 1997's. If they keep both those players for next year, I really believe that group of kids could be the first ones to make Lambton a bit of a favorite to gain one of the 3-4 spots given to Alliance for the first time ever in the OHL Cup.
I dont think that I meant that if kids didnt play in big games, they would be cast aside, I just implied that their true talents are seen and assessed properly when playing against the best.
Case in point, the final game of the Marlies-Rebels series. Fabbri, Ho Sang and McDavid came to play, and it is clear that they are the best in the loop.
Kids like Lindo, Bourne,Hargrave and Graham all looked normal playing with the big boys. If they were playing in the SCTA or ETA finals, I am sure they would be the superior players.

Absolutely Loved Fabbri's two games. No one will talk about it, but that shot block in the last minute was huge. I also thought that was Ho-Sang's best game in the finals, he took over that game at times.
Fabbri slid to block that shot in the dying seconds and hurt his wrist, and then blocked a last second shot off the shin/ankle. Kid is all heart and no one competes like him.
I realized the main difference between Ho Sang and McDavid. McDavid's fantastic plays make opponents look silly, but Ho Sang tries to make opponents look silly by trying fantastic plays. One easily earns the respect, and the other tries to buy the respect.
Unfortunate thing, is as I indicated, Ho Sang would have gone as first forward last year, and this year with McDavid around, he is 1a.
It was clear from the game and the way the opponents and team mates reacted, that McDavid was the true leader, and others were just cast members.
Yes, from New Jersey. Nathan Billitier and Ryan Hutchinson should impress.
Watch Caesars Selects. They have some really impressive players headed to the OHL Cup
Thanks Tigers. Do you know anything about this years TPH entry? I take it the Little Caesars Selects are more of a Detroit area All Star, rather than the Little Caesars team that spent the season together? Thanks again.
Nope, the player your thinking about has been playing pretty well all year in Kingston.
There's another Ryan Huthchinson that is a '96? Did a google search on him and all I got was the '95 defenseman that plays for Kingston. Bilitier sounds very intriguing. Played for the National Champion Belle Tire team last year, and played Junior in Rochester this season.
Any other top prospects you know of from the American entries, Tigers? Thanks.

My error. Ryan Hitchcock. Yale commit.
Caesars will have Cody Milan and Darby Llewellyn.
After today's OMHA's, the OMHA teams are seeded as follows.
If US and Northern Ontario are able to basically construct all-star teams on the fly for this event, what prevents standard AAA teams in this tournament from supplementing their rosters to be able to compete with the Marlies and Rebels for example?
Doesn't seem to be a level playing field here.......
