I think if they rise in the standings to the point our pick is the 7-10 range, we package it with Mcbain, Dalpe/Boychuck as a starting point for Nash if JR thinks he might be convinced to add us to his list of teams.
The market is inflated but the Canes will have money to spend. They probably could get Parise, all things being equal and their cap number could be like 54-55 Mil.
If their is no way we can spend more then $50 mil a year then we'll go after Olli Jokinen
That frustrating style that Muller has brought to Carolina Hurricanes has them playing some of the best hockey in the NHL over the last two months, with a record of 11-4-7 over their last 22 games. In addition to X's and O's, which take a while to implement, Carolina general manager Jim Rutherford said the main factor in Muller's tenure has been a new level of accountability. Muller’s nickname as a player -- "Kirk is Work'' -- seems to have translated to his coaching style at the NHL level.
Kirk is Work, and Work is Kirk. Kirk and Work. Kirk did not work as a bank clerk, and Kirk is a young turk. I hope he does not suffer from overwork. Soda jerk? Chad LaRose shirk? Knee jerk.
I'm watching him on NHL Tonight right now and I have to say he's very good. Mo's not the most energetic analyst, but he's very insightful and well spoken.

So just picked up the tickets yesterday for the Toronto game on March 27th. Section 101, Row 7, Seats 4&5. Got them for about 75.00 off of face value each. Toronto sure is a hockey hotbed! Pretty pumped though. Not sure if that's the visitor's end or not, but look for me and Cardiac_Canes behind the glass, either way. Decked out in Canes gear, no doubt.
334. Price jumped a little over $150 from this season to next. Interesting that they expanded the cheap section on the other side, I guess our sections increased bill will cover the money they'll lose over there.
I wouldn't move over there if you paid me, those tickets are going to get swept up by scalpers as soon as they're available. The amount of $1.50 tickets on stubhub vs Florida will double, which they can handle because they'll sell the same seat for $50+ to a Buffalo, Pittsburgh, etc fan for those games.
I don't know the prices of any other sections last year except for the one I was in so can't say for sure, but there are some new options that provide lower prices for certain parts of certain sections compared to this past year (full season plan only).
For instance, sections 107 and 116 are $57 / game (full season). I'm not exactly sure what the price was, but I think it was $72 last year for those seats for the full season price.
The top 8 rows in LL south also are $45 for the full season price/game vs. $60 last year.
They did a similar thing this past season with the top 8 rows of LL north and I heard it was well received. Allowed people to upgrade from a 26 game plan in LL south to a full season plan in LL north top 8 rows for the same money.
