yep, Amazon.ca told me to go **** myself and fed me a bunch of bull about extra shipping and import fees and crap.

I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice .... Amazon has amazing customer service here at least.
well, it was a very polite, verbose "go **** yourself" where they basically blew me off for suggesting that their pricing habits are not fully defensible when they want to charge almost $100 extra for items that don't have duty fees or other things that would make it cost more for them to get them over the border.
Of course, the guy may honestly believe all that stuff he fed me, but there is no way in hell you can tell me that it's "right" to charge $105 for a $50 speaker dock, or $130 for a $99 pair of headphones.
At the end the CS rep pretty much said that if I find the price is better on Amazon.com, I should buy it from there, but that I should remember how great the .ca customer service is and how much they're going to care about getting me my order.

Sorry guys, but caring isn't worth $100
You have no idea how many times my wife bought stuff, had it shipped to me in CALIFORNIA and then had me ship it up to the YUKON because it was cheaper to buy and faster to ship that way.

I was thinking that as well. A flat-rate USPS box holding all 3 items shouldn't cost any more than $30 I would think.
Ugh, gotta wake up at 7:30 tomorrow to pick up my exam... if the final wasn't comprehensive, I wouldn't really care but I gotta go over the answers 'cause it was just a guessing game for me, I dunno ****.
All in all, I bombed two midterms and aced one.
edit: nope, not going. solutions will be posted online. hopefully the grades too.

If you can get it under 4lb DO IT. Its a lot less hassle to via customs forms and its so much cheaper
There's a company called "Ship Happens" that operates just across the border from here in Sumas, Wa (seriously, like 2 hours away). I use their office for the shipping address, they take the package, then I pick it up from them and pay their going rate of $5 for the service. And this stuff all comes from Amazon and not a 3rd party retailer on their site, it qualifies for free shipping.
So, $5 and a couple hours trip across the border vs $24 to have it shipped directly up here (did the math on the amazon.com rates to Canada. $8 base, plus $4 for the blu-rays, plus $12 for the other stuff which weighs a total of 6 pounds). Easy choice.
(and yes, I've used this shipping service before, so I know it's legit)
The only thing I can't get a straight answer in is duty charges. Some places seem to indicate that there won't be any. Some figure it'll be in the $10-$15 range.
and no, I'm not calling the Customs/Border people. Last time I did that ahead of the trip to SJ, I was on hold for a total of 3 ****ing hours.
Lmao, got 68% in accounting. The sad thing is, if I hadn't changed a couple of answers, I could've gotten 75%. Oh well, unless I ace the final, I won't get anything better than a B.

Everyone knows you don't go back and change your answers. I thought you were a Berkeley student.
