Alright boys and girls the KHL season is over for Rads after a 3-2 loss in game 6.
Is he going to come back and join the Preds for the rest of the season? This weekend could get VERY INTERESTING!
How do you guys feel about it?
Should we just let him roll back in here and join the team or should they say thanks but no thanks we do not need your services now?
It is a strange situation i am interested to see how it all plays out. I can see both sides of the picture. I would leave it up to the leaders of the team. If they were ok with it then lets roll the russian mob.
If he wants to come back and we don't allow it, who knows what happens next season? He's obviously a fickle guy.
We have to to take him if he wants to return. Ideally negotiate a 3 year contact extension as part of the deal. 3 yrs 3.8m per. If he doesn't gel, we trade him him for a ***load in the offseason.
say he publically wants to come back and Poile says no. Are we then hiding his contract under the guise of a suspension? At that point he isn't actively playing for a team. Can he force the issue? If he does, does the PA get behind him?

It could also be argued that he is suspended for a season under 9.1 and that we'd still be under the 50 contract level with his suspension. Nothing with him is easy.
Somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but I think Poile always included Rads contract just in case of something like this happening, so that we would still have a legal number of contracts
First off (recalling many Forsberg rumors of the past) we all know you can't "sign" a new player past the deadline. So I ask a source at the NHL and was told the following...
"this is a player who is already signed and under contract to Nashville. he is playing in Russia in violation of his NHL contract. so, yes, its possible for him to return and there would be no eligibility issues at all."

im thinking thats true... kinda hard to claim on the one hand he is still under contract and on the other to say he doesnt count toward our 50...
Russian press was keen to know about Radulov's future in Ufa right after the game.
"Will you be staying in UFA?"
-" I don't want to make any comments about it" was his answer according to the Finnish media: http://www.suomikiekko.com/2012/03/a...-en-kommentoi/
Seems to me he's on his way there. Good luck guys!
Edit: Also he's thanking the true fans of UFA and the guys hes' been playing with the past year, in that short interview.
Assuming Radulov can produce at a fairly high level, he increases our chances (which are low right now, IM0). Even if he's 'struggles', he almost certainly will be a better producer than someone like Smith (and others) at this point.
We lack game changing forward(s) our competitors have. When goals are hard to come by the POs, that's where guys like Kesler, Toews, Crosby, Datysuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, E Staal, St Louis, really prove their worth. Not that Radulov will certainly be to their level, but he's certainly the closest thing we have.
I also think he increases our chances of signing Suter and subsequently Weber-- which is vital to the future of the Predators.

That's a quick conclusion to jump to, but it certainly gives us reason to believe.

So why all this smoke without a fire, if he'd not be coming back to your team or at least considering it seriously?
Maybe a quick conclusion, but I believe he's joining the preds for the cup run.
Might be wrong though. Just my opinion.
Doing some analysis I asked myself who has depth like Nashville offensively (15+ goal scorers)
Bos & NJD: 7 scorers
CHI & PHI: 6 scorers
The two teams I worry about are Bos and NJD because their defense is on par with Nashville. would Radulov be the difference between Nashville and a Boston? I'm not sure. I could make an argument that Rinne is Better than Marty and Thomas.
I'm just not sure. I think the team is pretty damned good.
