And honestly, what kind of crap is that about not letting people downgrade? They want to keep jacking up prices but tell us we can't take cheaper seats. Sell your overpriced **** to someone else. Ridiculous.
Apparently all of the $50 and $53 seats are all taken now. I find it hard to believe that a sizeable % of these folks will not renew. First, I don't see many looking to make a jump to "better" (more expensive seats). Then, going from $39 to $50/$53 is not a terrible jump considering 1) the seats are comparable or better 2) the resale explosion they experienced this year for tix they didn't use 3) this is the best team of the past decade. These same people sat through some terrible hockey. You think they'll bail now, when things are good? Not for a measly $11 a ticket. That's one less beer at the game. If the Rangers are still playing on May 11, these people will find a way to stretch their wallet and rationalize the extra $11-14 per ticket. I personally think that the Garden did a fair and reasonable job of matching up old seat locations to new ones. Just about every 400 person I've spoken to is happy enough. There are a few exceptions, of course... I'm one of them. My sliver of 409 was relocated to the West Balcony. I have the good fortune of jumping to a $64 seat that I don't want. I could wait for the next wave of the relocation process, but personally don't believe that there will be $50/$53 seats for me for the reasons above. I'm waiting for my May 11th call saying that we are at 90% renewal already so if you don't re-up we can't assure you of a cheaper ticket.

But.... that's on top of increases from last year and increases from the year before. There are actually a certain number of working class people who just can't justify $4000 per year on season tickets and many will just walk away this year. So there should be some turnover, but probably not too much.
What row and side of the aisle were you in 409 BTW?
We want to renew but either the price upgrade makes it prohibitive, we are less then thrilled with where our new seats are, or a combination of the two. I know I have previously stated I would not be renewing, however if someone here would be interested in splitting next season perhaps we could come to a agreement that would be beneficial to both of us.
So I ask: Is anyone interested in splitting next season?
My new seats are in section 209. Row 21. I think seats 9 and 10.
$50.
I would obviously need you to take at least 20 games to make this work.

PM if interested.
Dude you are going to have 0 problem splitting those for next season. Expect to have to share playoff rights though. If I were you I would be keeping the full season

Haha...you definitely make more $$$ than I do.
Our first full year 41 games (two seats) was $2050.
Starting next season we are looking at $4100 and that isn't even counting playoffs.
If my memory serves me correctly if the Rangers (hockey gods willing) make the final round this year we are looking at another $3500 to $4000.
We have a friend who bought 12 games from us this year (pretty sure we let him pick what games he wanted too) and he will be getting some playoff games.
I mean I am positive one day MSG will price us out. I just want to try an exhaust every option before I let May 10th pass without renewing.
Seat prices did increase due to the value of the seats going up after the transformation. The new features and amenities should absolutely be worth it!! The pitch will also be increased to 17 degrees steeper, so you’ll have an even better view. If you cannot afford the seats, though - there is an option to downgrade. To do this, you would release your seats, and then participate in the downgrade process to select from the available seats at that time.
The order of the processes are:
1. Renewal process (which we are currently in)
2. Upgrade process (to change to seats either in the same price point or higher)
3. Downgrade process (after having released seats, have option to select seat of lower price)
You will definitely have the option to downgrade to lower priced tickets if they become available. Only, this is a riskier option - because we cannot guarantee availability. Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will do my best to help you out!
I love how your rep took creative license to invent a "downgrade process". What she's really talking about is the "secondary relocation". So I guess that confirms right there that upgrades and shifting will happen BEFORE people get to choose other seats (where cheaper is an option) after declining their initial relocation assignments
My options are: accept, and be done with it... or decline, and hope there's something left over after it's all done and I can move up to the $50 seats. But that's no guarantee. And once I say I'm declining, my seats are open for anyone with longer tenure who wants to move/upgrade.
As I understand it, anyone who accepted their location has a shot at your seats even if they have less tenure than you.

I guess this confirms you can't downgrade during the "upgrade" process. I also have the same rep and she told me the same thing over the phone yesterday, except for the downgrade process.

My guess is she is being told to say this to anyone who complains about the ticket prices. However, that is a pretty ridiculous statement. As if we give a flying poop about features an amenities.

That's the thing, if we want high end amenities there are too many 5 star restaurants to count within a 10 minute cab ride following the game. People go to watch the game, and the needs for some basic snacks & drinks doesn't really change from year to year
The renovation is mainly to attract the highest end customers as possible and to sell as many private suites as possible.
Anyone have an inside pricing list on all the suites, by the way?
I'm sure they just have general emails written up to reply to all the angry emails they got. I didn't get mad in the email, just said might not be able to afford 73, and wanted to see if we could move back.

I got these prices for the new Madison club suite seats. It includes all rangers Knicks games plus playoffs plus all college basketball plus boxing plus tennis. Food and non-alcoholic beverages also included. Sort of like the Legends seats at NYS except the club is located behind the rangers net under the upper bowl so these are not the best seats location wise.
first row $47,500 per seat with a 4 year contract plus 2% annual increase
2nd and 3rd rows $42,500 with a 3 year contract plus 4% annual increase or 2 year contract with6%

Haha, nearly $50,000 for a seat and they wont even buy you a drink.
Ignoring the price for a second - lower level suite seats for every sports event at the Garden with food included is a pretty sweet hookup. If they can work with me and do less than $5K/seat I'm in baby!!

So basically 20k for a ticket to every Rangers game (assuming you found someone to split it with you and take the Knicks/etc.) If you were to assume 50 games (yes I'm including 9 home playoff games lol) that's $400 per game. At that price, why wouldn't you just get seasons in the Delta Club section? It's cheaper, you get food and non-alcoholic beverages included, and most importantly the seats are much better.
