Thanks to the clueless video crew, I'll give him a benefit of doubt for the first goal.
Nizhny has absolutely terrible replay angles. When I watch the episode live I can understand what's going on, cause they have a pair of panorama cameras, but when they show the replays... I just don't have a clue what has happened.
Congratulation both to Atlant and Severstal for this entertaining series.
And as far as Riga is concerned: have faith.... In the last match Jucers had a sv% of 80,0% wheras Koval 90,9% and you lost by one goal only, so things can only go better
Amazing how solid we look when we don't need to chase game from the very beginning. Let's pray that Holt stays healthy.
Yeah Holt is far from perfect, he can have ****** games too but they usually come once in a while and then there are games like this one that show why people still want him in Dinamo jersey.
As I said, I've nothing against him in Riga for the next year too, only we need to find another solid goalie in case something goes wrong.
Bye, bye Salavat Yulaev... To lose all the games on home ice...
AK Bars wasn't the best team in this series but they certainly had less problems than Ufa who got rid of Bykov after winning the championship and had big problems with goalies and Radulov all season long. And they have payed for it now...
And I don't think AK Bars is the top contender for the win in the East. It's just the fact that two teams that are not exactly ready for play-offs played each other and the best one won.
As concerns the other series, we'll see game 7 in East too. And I'm really, really surprised that Sushinsky and Mozyakin, when they were most needed, have stepped up and are finally FIGHTING for something. Of course, if Barys loses the series it's a tragedy for a club as you should win at least 1 game out of 3 playing such an opponent as this season's magnitka but the veterans have really stepped up and now Barys is in a very bad position.
Honestly i thought that magnitka is finished. But play-off is play-off.
It wasn't so much Radulov as it was the goaltending. Look at Ersberg, that goal was inexcusable. Vehanen was bad too, Ak Bars is going to get killed next round if he continues to plays that way.

A popular Russian blogosphere guy The_Traktor_Bang said in the middle of the regular season that the only chance for these two teams to go past round 1 in play-offs is to play with each other. It came true. Of course he's a funny guy too but makes a lot of sense. Goaltending was and still is the issue for both teams. And as concerns other things too AK Bars is probably weakest in years, I think Avangard and Traktor definitely have much better chances to win East than AK Bars... So I don't think a ''green'' team will win Gagarin Cup this year and IMHO it's good for league. Anything except AK Bars win would be good for league, even SKA...
Of course it wasn't Radulov's fault but he was really great only in the first game, three passes out of which 2 were really top class and put 2 goals in for SYU win 3:0, in other games he was a shadow of himself. In the end he's got 6 games and 0+6, good number but no goals and +/- only at 1... I don't know if AK Bars manage to stop him or there was some other things but Moro and Zaripov were clearly bigger figures in this series as Radulov and it shows in the final result.

Anyway there'll be Game 7 both in the West (TOR-RIG) and East (MMG-BAR). Angry kazakh fans who think that Russian referees are against them (from 3-1 to 3-3) vs guys that don't want to be humiliated already in the first round with the team they've got and Torpedo and Riga fans who're probably more happy and psyched about the fact that they're playing game 7 than worried about the outcome of the actual game...
Magnitka woke up suddenly. Big surprise to me, they seemed finished in both of the last 2 games when Barys sent them into OT. SU-33 and Mozyakin have honor, I guess.
And Salavat... Oh well, they should've kept Bykov & Zakharkin in the first place. Show me a smart team that decides to replace its coaching staff right after winning the cup.

traktor_bang (aka Damir Bulanov) is a funny fellow, he has a bright head. Hard to disagree with his latest blogpost.

Yes, if he decides to do it. Even 1 game will count.

hah, I knew he was from Ufa (though many people think he's a ''blogger from Chelyabinsk'' due to his avatar name that comes from a popular youtube video) but didn't know his real name and that he, judging from the name, seems to be bashkir

Vehanen wasn't bad at all. To say that is ridiculous.
That doesn't matter sh... EVERY player going through waivers has an active contract. Read the rules carefully.
No, he doesn't. Radulov is a suspended player. It is not covered in the CBA, but the NHL and NHLPA do not recognize his contract in the KHL because it has been their position all along that it was signed illegally since he was still under contract in the NHL (let's not get into that, that conversation is over). Therefore, Radulov could return to the Predators at any time without having to clear waivers. Additionally, Radulov has not earned time towards free agency status due to the suspension, so he would be an RFA at the end of the season should he return and not a UFA.
