So watching the games since the deadline, I'm very confused what the Sharks are doing with one of their newest acquisitions in TJ Galiardi. It seems like the coaching staff just doesn't want to play him, even though when I saw him against Philadelphia and Buffalo, I thought he played really well and could add some depth to the 2nd or 3rd line. Well, he only plays 2 minutes against the Blues, played decently against the Oilers, and tonight he was a healthy scratch? What is going on here? I thought the whole point of making a trade was to bring in another forward, and yeah Winneck is there, but I don't understand Galiardi being a healthy scratch tonight. It's almost like the coaching staff just doesn't like him or something. And if it's about taking penalties, well aren't taking penalties just a part of the game? If we're going on that, than they might as well bench everybody.
The coaches suck.
Galiardi has played with speed and has been great on the fore check.
I wouldnt be surprised if he is on TM **** list a lot of good Sharks find their way on it while others who suck get rewarded with more ice time.
we traded mcginn straight up for this guy too. (winnick was a rental and thus basically cost us our two prospects). i don't think dw and tmac are on the same page at all anymore.

I don't think TM is on the same page as anyone anymore.
He's likely injured. He did get popped a couple times and his minutes haven't been very high, so maybe we're jumping to conclusions too quickly. A lot of injuries are hush hush this time of year.

Thats what i was thinking as well. He took 2 or 3 big hits to the head, especially that one from rinaldo that looked like it hurt.
It can take a few games to see who fits where and on what lines, we've also had some injurys and appear to still be trying players out (e.g. WIngels) for the playoff roster. I don't think TJ has played bad in so much as others are playing well and the coachng staff has not figured out how to get the most out of him yet.
I hope not but maybe it's taking him more time to pick up the Sharks system... if the Sharks scratch him the rest of the way, I doubt he'd be back next season.
I think TMac is in super win mode and doesn't want to risk throwing someone who isn't familiar with the system into the mix yet. I really doubt Galiardi is already in the doghouse
It's also possibly he's simply trying to get everyone some game time and was bringing Desjardins and Winchester back into the line-up so someone had to go. Normally I'd say "Why not Mitchel?" Except he scored last night heh.

Mitchell filled his highlight goal quota for the year haha.

something about blind something or another and nuts
tough to find where a player fits WHEN HE'S SCRATCHED
This is pretty much my problem right now. How can there be experiments with Galiardi and who can he learn the system when he doesn't play? That's like saying you have to learn how to ride a bike without the bike. I don't get it.

We aren't at practice or the meetings. We don't know what he he has or hasn't picked up on. We have alot of forwards who are nhl caliber, someone will be scratched.

No we aren't at practice or in the meetings, but if the last month is any indication, something is not working and should be changed.

He joined the team about 11 days ago. I don't see the big deal. I hope he plays because he has talent and potential. Its a numbers game right now. Just wait til Havlat gets back. This place will crumble due to healthy scratches.
I think they may be working on areas of the ice where he can use his speed and also keep his head up. I keep hearing everybody tell him to watch out because he skates with great speed but his head is down. If I were TJ I would go every practice keeping his eyes forward, I know some players like to stare at there skills in amazement j/k but stay safe. I think either he gets a longer stick to keep his posture up and viewing the entire field of play or be careful because he could get hit hard. We like to be the hunters not the hunted as a Shark.
