Kubina, as a has-been, is probably looking for a retirement contract come July 1st. How much would he fetch on July 1st?

But, personally, I think he isn't worth $3M anymore. Perhaps $1.75-2M

Barring any CBA changes altering the way contracts for 35+yo players works, Pavel will be 35 by the time he signs his next deal. If he wants more than one season I don't think he'll make more than 2.5 million per. If he's alright with one year deals the rest of the way he might find somebody willing to pony up a bit more cash, but either way I think he's looking at a sizable decrease in annual pay.

That said, watch him do something glorious in the playoffs that earns him a 2 or 3 year deal from some chump for more than he currently makes.
