Instead, the NHL would rather make arbitrary case by case reviews with little consistency. THAT'S why some of my fellow Caps fans are bitter. Green has been targeted and hit multiple times and out with significant injury with no justice from similar hits. We're only human.
Just pointing out, as have several others, that it's the same for all teams. It's not like the Caps are the only players who've been subjected to hits that haven't resulted in the same punishment that's been given to others. There's no exclusivity or conspiracy here against the Caps, which is the impression many are getting is being alleged from some of the posts in this thread.
I totally get why Caps fans are upset with NHL (Shanahan) and consistency issues when it comes to rulings. It is a league wide issue, however, not just with the Caps. I think Caps fans know this but are just frustrated.
That being said Green is lucky it was only 3 games, it probably should have been 5 IMO.
Actually, things prior did have something to do with it. It was why Shanahan called Green a repeat offender, when even by the CBA, Green is not. It's not a "leave our teams star players alone!" I'm sure there are examples a lot of teams can cite, where it's the same old crap in the NHL. You wear one sweater, and you are allowed to do one thing. You wear another sweater, and you can do things you weren't allowed to do before.
Yeah this guy is right. Its just like if someone breaks into your house, and they are never caught, you can break into other peoples house with impunity.
Clearly this suspension is evidence that the league, players, refs, and opposing fans are out to get the Capitals. So far the plan is working boys, lets keep it up...
