My dad used to play handball with the guy and he says that Spec has always been this way. Playing the devils advocate and Mr. Negativity just for the hell of it.

I'd like to see the Oil blaze a few slappers at the refs after some garbage like this or maybe an old fashioned Mac T style body check after a crap call.... (saw Mac T check more than one ref back in the day) though he did seem to get unsportsmanlike calls in return

Also Renney show some Gumption and call the ref out on his garbage for a change.

It worked for Carlyle the other night in a leafs game.

Watched the Avs broadcast today instead and they mentioned (more sort of off the cuff) at how few powerplays the Avs were getting lately.

The reality is, not withstanding the odd no goal call this afternoon, the refs have clearly been told to call WAY less. It's not related to the Oilers even though it feels that way.

Not sure why people are ripping Landeskog, must be homers or something. He has had a great year, better than RNH. I agree with Spec that RNH would have to outscore him by quite a margin to win the Calder. Maybe if RNH finishes the season at over a PPG pace, he will have a shot at the Calder, otherwise it is Ladeskog's to lose to Henrique or maybe Matt Read.

Also, I agree with the poster that said we have 3 defencemen (Schultz, Petry, Smid) and a good 7th guy in Sutton. We don't necessarily need a Stud #1 guy but a couple more 3-4 type guys are needed.

Its hilarious, in the space of a few posts in GDT Petry blasts the refs and its great stuff and good to see him be a stand up guy. Gagner beaking off at the same time about the exact same play and its S T F U Gagner.

Its kinda funny.

Yeah, I think Kevin Quinn mentioned that the Avs didn't get a single PP against Nashville earlier in the week.

Nashville being another team, like Dallas, that has no business going 60 minutes without drawing a call.

Its clearly a league-wide thing. But I do think it sucks extra hard for the Oilers since our powerplay was a black hole from 2007 to 2011, and now we're number one and the league reverts back to prison rules. . .

If you consider breaking off at the same time about 30 seconds later, I guess.

Hopefully the Jackets can win their game today and close the gap to six points.

Wow that sounds like he really let them have it.

I know that if someone rolls his eyes then he must really be pissed.

This one is on the coaching and management IMO. The last thing Gagner needs to do right now is spout of at the refs. That combined with his poor play of late would be the quickest way into Renney's doghouse.

He was mouthing off about the call immediately. As was Hemsky, and Petry. Hemsky was beaking about it still at the end of the 3rd period.

Its classic though that fans here single out Gagner for saying something, oh, wait they blast the players for saying nothing about it, no wait, they blast Renney for saying nothing about it, or the zamboni driver, damn, he should've said something.. or it could be the team illogic lynching squad forming again for no particular reason.

Maybe Gagner mixed up the syntax in his invectives or something. He doesn't do it right. You have to enunciate and snarl just right like Petry.

If you want to line up on the side of nonsense go ahead.

Classic HF...the local response was good for a laugh if nothing else.

Colorado has 5 games without a PP in their last 25 games or so. The first Colorado PP today was their first in 101 minutes. About 12-15 games ago Colorado had a streak of 164 minutes without a PP.

Colorado is on pace for the fewest amount of PPs by an NHL team since the 1978-79 season. Colorado also has around 2 total minutes of 5 on 3 PP time this season.

Things are rough for a lot of teams this season in terms of officiating.

I don't see anybody here spouting hyperbole like, "RNH needs 20 more points to win the Calder. He has no chance of winning over Landeskog! LOL!"

No, most of the negativity here is grounded in truth. We shouldn't be happy that this team is gunning for 30th three years running.
