At 19 years and four months, he is the youngest player to ever wear a Manchester Monarchs uniform.
Right wing Lauri Tukonen is a first-round draft choice and is fast learning to play like one. Chosen 11th overall, he is the prize of a largely untapped 2004 Los Angeles Kings draft class that has Japanese goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji as its only other L.A. signee so far. The goalie, selected in the eighth round with the 238th pick, got a brief look in Manchester earlier this season.
"(Tukonen's) adjusted very nicely," said Monarchs Director Of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough. "He's not shy, sticks his nose in there and is only going to get better."
