He was the Leafs' leading scorer in the 1963–64, 1966–67 and 1969–70 seasons, and the team's top goal scorer in 1970–71 and 1972–73. Keon was considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, and one of the best defensive forwards of his era. He would usually play against the opposing team's top centre, and developed a reputation for neutralizing some of the league's top scorers. In 1970–71, he scored eight shorthanded goals, setting an NHL record.
wasnt bad, i support losing right now and we played a good game. Wish they won it in regulation though.
Does this count as a shutout for Gus?
Kessel isnt good against teams based on their spot in the standings guys, hes good against teams based on how physical they play him. There's a reason he gets ran out of buildings against teams that play tight and hit at every opportunity
Effort wasn't there from core players. Gus was good, maybe should have played him a lot more during the year. Overall boring game. I like boring hockey if winning/effort is involved. This was just awful. Season is done for sure. Go anybody but Winnipeg for 8th place in the East.
Kessel needs to bring another element to his game other than scoring.
Lol at comments like these. How about everyone other than kessel needs to find another element to their game too, like scoring. ****, why doesnt every player become a well-rounded 2-way player capable of netting 20 goals. May as well get on everyones case.
I said it when Wilson was coaching that I'd be happy with boring hockey if that is what it takes to turn ths franchise into a winner. We've had 4 seasons of "excitement" if crapping our collective pants every time a team enters the Leafs end is the definition of exciting hockey. Hopefully Wilson was purged just in time before these young guys were completely ruined by him.
