I wouldn't mind moving down if Buff trade both their first for our top pick. I would use #9 to pick Radek Faksa and #25 Teuvo Teravainen.

I think it's only saying that Columbus doesn't want to use a top pick to draft a Russian. My guess is they want to move down a bit because they know Yakupov will be the first player taken in the draft, and they know there player, probably Forsberg or Murray, will be available a little bit later...

If I'm right, we could very well be in a position to move up and draft Yakupov! I wonder what the price would be... I'm guessing our 2nd and a prospect or young roster player.

I'd do it though... We are talking about a future superstar...

So you would trade Eller, 2012 1st and 2012 2nd for Yakupov?

I really like Yakupov but he isn't worth all that.

Group Polarization.

Whoever is against Grigorenko is firmly entrenched in their belief against him.
Whoever is for Grigorenko is now not considering other players besides him.

Classic.

Nope. Never saw the Malkin comparisons with him.

Why, because he make a great move in a shootout? I can say he look like Shremp too. Grigo look to be a good player but i'm still not sold on him.

In fact, he's easily worth more that that.

Eller , 2012's 1st and 2012's 2nd for << Yakupov???.. the habs management would be like... where do we sign ??? You're talking of Superstar in the making here. Unfortunately throwing Eller in there wouldn't be enough for the team that's holding the 1st overall pick.

No Eller is untouchable. He is a Jordan Staal clone.

I hope we can get more reports on Galchenyuk from 2011-12 OHL archives and after he returns. Are full game archive footage available on Forsberg?

The opinions of scouts who make a living watching these kids and people who see Grigorenko regularly don't count.

Top prospect Nail Yakupov was leveled during a game against Owen Sound tonight in Sarnia and did not return. Suspected head injury. Again.

Maybe 2nd pick is the place to be.

Is Eller the only young roster player we have or what?

Many posters have already expressed concern that his frame and style of play put him at a higher risk of injury (concussions in particular). I can't say this comes as a surprise.

Eller isn't as good as Staal on the PK mainly because of his reach which is obviously not the same. There's no one untouchable when it comes to getting an elite forward. But like i said, there's no way we could get Yakupov by throwing eller and 2 picks.

I rather have Eller, one of Forsberg/Galchenyuk/Grigorenko and our 2nd round pick Malcolm Subban than Yakupov.

Thing is, if Columbus doesn't want a Russian because of their Filatov situation (shouldn't matter since Yakupov is already in NA, but you never know), or because their plan is to re-build from the back end and they want a D, they'd be crazy not to trade down...

Movement in the top 3 isn't that rare in draft without a clear number one. Even though Yakupov is the clear top prospect this year, the Russian factor and his size could bump him out of the top spot on some lists...

Mathias Brunet isn't sold on him either

http://blogues.cyberpresse.ca/lnh/20...nko-deception/

Oh but Brunet is not a pro scout so it's irrelevant to Grig's groupies.

I watched MacKinnon only once live and he was pretty much invisible.

I'm gonna go write a blog about MacKinnon being a bust...

Grig's groupie? I might be defending him, but I'd still take Yakupov or Galchenyuk over him if they're as good as advertized. Nobody here said Grig is the best prospect since Crosby.

I just made a comment about pro scouts being wrong many times before. I'm sorry if the idea shocked you...

Yakupov with the concussion tonight on a nasty headshot.

Was a pure shoulder to the face as he was cutting accross the slot. It looks pretty bad.
