Maybe Yakupov should go to the movies?

I'm not so sure that that's going to be a terrible concussion. Regarding hockey concussions, a lot of the worst in terms of post-concussion syndrome seem to be caused by torque (heads getting turned violently) rather than deceleration (heads getting hit head on into immovable objects). Compare Crosby's concussion inducing hits and MaxPac's. MaxPac's looks worse, but computer imaging showed that his hit was actually much nicer to his brain. Kind of counter-intuitive, I know, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet.

The problem is that Montreal has underachieved whereas Columbus just plain sucks. By looking at our goal differential we should be fighting for a playoff spot. It is annoying to look at Florida's differential as they are a bad team that has fluked in so far with smoke and mirrors.

On the bright side this could be a very quick turnaround for the Habs as there are some great young pieces in place already and all of our top prospects are turning pro next season.

Good news is it doesn't look like he was "out" on the ice, maybe they just held him out as a precaution.

Halmo may be a guy we want to sign or draft, Andrew Shaw type.

Edit. I guess the Islanders signed him yesterday.

Looking at the lower echelon forwards, I'd rank it

1. Sebastien Collberg
2. Pontus Aberg
3. Gaunce
ND - Faksa.

Most people I spoke to have Faksa well ahead of Gaunce because of skating.

Gaunce must flop around on the ice like a deer on skates if Faksa's skating is significantly better.

Looking at the lower echelon forwards, unless Timmins really has his eyes on one of Collberg or Faksa , I hope we pick the best player available which will be in all probability a defenseman. I'd be a bit disappointed with Reinhart, Ceci or whatever other pick however after a ****** season like this.

Why is Faksa a ND on your list?

I didn't like his skating, his acceleration or his speed. I did not see enough in his offensive game to show that he'll ever be a big point producer. I see more of a Radek Bonk in him than anything else. I'd take him in the 20's. But he's a no draft for me on any team that misses the play-offs. The best forwards and D would have to be gone before I took a look at him and said, this is the best shot we have of getting a 2nd line player.

Collberg and the Finn are the only real intriguing forwards outside the top 4. Sucks.

I keep hearing Hertl but have not seem him as he plays in the Czech league.

Also I hear a lot of good things about Girgensons but haven't seen him either.

Yup he is. I've seen him a couple times. He Is more a two way type D has some good upside potential for top pairing may easily become a 3-5 guy.

If you look at McKenzie's list, I could live with any of his top 8 picks. I prefer some over the others.
http://tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=58415

Yakupov, Grigorenko, Murray, Forsberg, Dumba, Trouba, Galchenyuk and Reilly.

Faksa's actually quite a good skater.

Gaunce on the other hand has displayed nothing that makes me want to draft him.

1. Yakupov
2. Grigorenko
3. Galchenyuk
4. Forsberg
5. Trouba
6. Dumba
7. Murray
8. Collberg
9. Aberg
10. Gaunce.

That's the way my list looks right now, but honestly, if I'm down to Gaunce, I'm going to trade down. Take two shots at that point.

Yakupov is a dynamic franchise talent.
Grigorenko is a cerebral franchise center.
Galchenyuk is an upper echelon two-way center.
Forsberg is a first line winger.
Trouba's a two-way minute cruncher.
Dumba is Subban vs. 2
Ryan Murray is.. well, at that point, you have to take him. Not a huge fan.
Collberg can be a sniping first line winger.
Aberg can be a first line talent or a 2A player.

coreypronman
Faksa. Better skater and puck handler. RT Faksa or Gaunce? & Why?

Those 3 ahead of Rielly? I would never do that.

You could slot Rielly ahead of Gaunce in my list there. I like the Swedish forwards more than Rielly, considerably so.
