That was hands down the most frustrating game this season, the outcome just happened to be good.
2 incredibly lucky goals, combined with horrible horrible decision making on the Rangers part is the only way this game went to OT. That was not enjoyable to watch.
PoTG: Richards was on another level. And IMO it had nothing to do with playing with Gaborik, who I felt wasn't that spectacular. This is what he's capable of, best game since Philly.
Good: Hagelin was nearly as good as Richards. Boyle had a great game, as did Prust and Zuccarello deserves another shot. Really this game was controlled by both team's top 6. Every other player was very pedestrian. I'll give Bickel and Staal some props, Bickel was awesome.
Bad: The defense was bad. Really really bad. The Islanders first line rocks us. Again we are frequently guilty of painfully retarded decision making. Every single game, and it does not happen to other teams nearly as much.
Redden: PAP deserves the worst. Guy is a piece of ****.
I don't know how people are going to say stuff about Richie looking good finally because of Gabby. Guy has looked great for a while now, pairing him with Gabby when he's playing like this is obvious because it's going to lead to points.
Richie, on an individual level right now, is peaking.
Richards explaining why I hate MSG in his post-game right now.
I love that he just said that. "From the outside looking in it may look like there is a lot of room but three guys can still jam up shooting lanes" (not the exact quote but something along those lines). Can't stand the "shoot the puck" idiots.
Seriously did MZA really do that much? It was really Richards who showed his highest calibre tonight. Also Boyle in front of the net is a no brainer - why hasn't this happend sooner? The guy is a giant.

well at the game they are most likely just watching the player with the puck and not seeing or looking for any lanes or where chances can be created as if your watching on tv. i agree with you if richards shoots there it gets blocked.
By far Richards' best game as a Ranger. This is one of those rare nights in which the offense was able to carry the team.
I'm thrilled we were finally able to gut out a win, but there were still areas of sloppiness that have me concerned. The too many men penalty, shoddy defense and surrendering breakaways/odd men rushes, poor on-ice awareness, overpassing, etc. Once they start to limit the mistakes, I'll breathe a sigh of relief.
