Seeing it all togetherin a couple of sentences makes it very depressing. I think Ribeiro, McDonagh, Grabovsky and SK are the only ones that upset me.

What a joke. Definitely some of the worst trading GMs ever. If it weren't for the Rivet deal, they would be completely incompetent.

Will Kristo play a final season in College ?

I wasn't impressed by Holland. Not very fast or quick. Didn't seem to go all out more than once or twice all night. Definitely not physical. Don't think he had one hit all night. Got knocked down or fell on his own a few times, never quick to get up. Appears rather soft

Gallagher didn't have his best game either. Created some chances, feisty. Banged away at the goalie for a loose puck, got a penalty for it. Holland seemed to shy away from that type of activity. Gallagher definitely has some Theo Fleury in him; not as chippy, but not afraid to stick his nose in the fray
Then he got the primary assist in OT to win the game........ TC is without 5 regulars and is treading water till they come back this week. Holland is one of the few players who can skate with Shinnimin and since he moved to his line in Feb. they have lit the league on fire. Number one thing for Holland to work on is getting some muscle on his frame, that and finishing around the net. Smart kid who can do whatever the coach asks him to do.

Patrick Holland ‏ @PattyShwayz
Nine year old Patrick Holland wants to know how many 5cent candies I can now afford. Twenty year old version is also curious.

It is a fact that Holland is a very good skater. It always amazes me that some people just don't have an eye for the obvious.

Having said that, skating isn't just about lap times in open ice. It's also about the balance and edge work that becomes important when the level of physicality increases (ex: from WHL->AHL, and AHL->NHL), and the explosiveness/power of the first step when trying to create separation or get around/through traffic. Decreasing the reaction time between identifying what to do, and then making your body do it, is also important (hockey IQ and experience). Plenty of great skaters never really pan out because their speed didn't translate into the ability to navigate regular NHL play and get to openings in areas where they can be dangerous and contribute.

Piling up points at Junior level doesn't mean it will translate in any shape or form at pro level, NHL level.

Holland is playing with two players who are 20 and got more points than him. Who's helping whom ? They are THE line of that club. The rest of the forwards are younger and way back in production.

Gallagher is the main cog in Vancouver. And will play at NHL level no doubt.

Not so sure about Holland.

I have seen Holland grow up on this team in person. He carried the second line all year and is the reason Feser has 37 goals. Holland and Shinnimin carry the mail on that team. Hughesman is a passenger most nights.

A year and a half ago every poster on this board said Desharnais was too small and too slow for NHL. He was drafted later than Holland.
