Congragulations, Chicago Should Recieve Ottawa's 7th Round 2013 Pick On Wednesday
Rob Klinkhammer has been looking good in Ottawa's line-up thus far, it looks like he is here to stay for a bit. Anyway he will play his fifth game on Wednesday against Montreal and that means a transfer of the pick. I am aware that you have lost your 2nd and 3rd rounders in 2013 so atleast put you back at six picks, I guess potential can be found anywhere in the draft.

This totally makes up for the picks lost in the Oduya trade.
Good for Klink. Always felt he'd be a decent NHL player.
Didn't he line up one game next to Alfie? I never in a million years would've imagined him capable of that.

7th rounder sounds like a good spot to take a goalie

Didn't you hear? Carter Hutton is going to solve all our goalie woes.

Nah, if you want a goalie go in the top three rounds. NCAA players are my best choice for a 7th rounder. Usually the players at the bottom three rounds have less potential, allows development of more developmental camps and teams retain the rights for ATLEAST four years which can go to six if they stay in places like USHL. CHL players on otherhand get only guranteed two year development before contract rights have to be determined

He is not, he will be a really good 4th/3rd liner for us next year though, Silfverburg or Zibenejad will be taking his position next year

I'm glad that Klinkhammer is getting his shot and is doing well. He wasn't going to break into this club and really this is the best thing for him, the Hawks, and the Sens.

7th-round pick, can you really get anything of value with that lol?
The 2013 Draft is way deeper than 2012 IMO, and 2012 is one hell of a Draft. The Hawks lost two valuable picks for a rental player, great job.
But in all seriousness, good for Colonel Klink. Sad he really never got his shot in Chicago, but he looks like he's found it in Ottawa.
And all us Chicago fans say "thank you" for the pick that will more than compensate for the two we lost trading with Cheveldayoff.

How the hell did Klink go from 6 points in 18 games in Rockford, to 35 points in 35 games in Binghamton? Rockford coaches must really suck.
Now he has 4 games in the NHL and 17 hits. Seems like a physical forward we could use.

Not likely, but we already have a pretty good kid who is making a lot of scouts/GMs look bad.
Code:
Player GP G A PTS +/- PIM
SAAD, Brandon 41 32 39 71 31 36
YAKUPOV, Nail 42 31 38 69 15 30
I would love to see where Saad would be ranked in this year's draft. I knew he was a gem when I saw his play in the prospect/preseason camps, but I hadn't realized Bowman committed grand larceny in St. Paul last June.

I personally ensure you Oduya is not a rental. He has helped our d-men out a lo.t 4-1 with him in the lineup

Brouwer was a 7th round pick.
He was useful for a number of years, especially during our SC run.
We then flipped him for a first.
BTW, our last 2 5th round picks (Shaw and Kruger) are currently playing for us.
Draft picks are like lottery tickets, the more you have, the better chance you have of cashing in.

2013 draft if this happens
Hawks 1st
Hawks 4th
Hawks 5th
Hawks 6th
Hawks 7th
Sens 7th
That Oduya overpayment really hurts ,, Gonna be very important for Bowman/Staff to find some diamonds in rough in 2013

Liked him as a nice little fourth liner that brings energy and a tiny bit of offense.

This year's draft with McNeill/Saad/Shaw hopefully makes up for it.
Also if we re-sign Oduya the trade becomes better, and if he keeps playing at this rate I'm sure that will be strongly considered.

Not worth it cost wise unless he takes major paycut

Second pairing defenseman hitting UFA don't take a sniff under four million dollars. I'd be thrilled with landing him for Hammer money.

Our GM/Scouts passed on Saad 3 times before
